In some cases, the abnormal frame rate doubling (multiplying) may not yield so good when it appears on-screen. This is indeed helpful for certain games but not all games (especially those that are strict on timing) would experience such benefits and in some cases, may backfire.
In LCD, manufacturers depend on it to solve to slow panel response time of LCD panels (esp. those using CCFL). However, these methods are artificial and does the processing engine does not always get it right.

As far as IIDX goes, I'm a very novice player so I don't know if I would be able to notice small lag +\-1 or not, but playing at 0 timing seems to be fine. I don't notice any audio lag from running it through my receiver either which is good.
I don't have component cables yet but don't really have any gripes with composite. I'm not using the "GAME" port on the tv either. Overall very happy with my purchase!

The G10 should prove to be a solid set (it's not that far from the North American G15 anyways save for viera cast I think). In any case, you should try it with "GAME" port on and see if the results are better
Nevertheless enjoy your new TV

Problem with Aquos sets is that they are inconsistent. The best bet here is that you get the ones that are designed for gaming (such as the 1080p unit with Vyper Drive processing). Other than that, well you can get their LED backlit models such as the XS1 (though atm, these are more expensive than their RGB CCFL backlit models)

I wish to know if they have lag, because I'm considering one as my next set, and it would suck if there is lag. I can't go out and test it right now because my friend is borrowing my PS2. :/

The only ones available now is the Sony XEL-1 (11 inch) unit. Then by Q4 2009, LG might launch their first OLED TV (15 inch). None from Samsung as of yet.
@in other news
I heard of an explanation as to why some Sharp Aquos sets have lag while some don't. Perhaps one explanation (that I've read from AVS forums) is that some of their sets use IPS Panels (like the one Panasonic uses for their LCDs which is good) but the rest are S-PVA (like what Samsung and Sony use for their LCD panels which is notorious for frame lag)
So yeah, that could possibly one explanation as to such. Anyways, if you wanna read up on it, then you can follow this link below: Lag: Plasma vs LCD - Page 2 - AVS Forum

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Quick question guys: when playing on LCD or plasma TV's do you change the adjustment timing for IIDX games?
I just purchased a Panasonic TC-32LX14 32” LCD HDTV and I'm having trouble finding the correct timing. I used to play on a Westinghouse 32" (SK-32H540S) and when I set the adjustment timing to (-1) it played almost exactly like the arcade. But with this new Panasonic one, I just can't seem to find it. Any suggestions?

Because here, apparently, it lags a bit: The Official Plasma Input Lag Thread. - AVS Forum
