Check craigslist. They run there for about $80 to $150 last time I looked.

There's a free 34' widescreen phillips tube tv in my area. It turns off occassionally, but it's free!

Can anyone recommend either of these two TV's:

obviously I want to play beatmania with them so I was wondering how the lag is on either set.

The Panasonic one, but you need a set of external speakers so there won't be any audio lag(which is very minimal btw). Something with RCA inputs (white and red). Basically a 2-channel speaker set for like $20-30 will do. Either that or a headphone adapter.

Its a flat screen tube TV and someone here has one available for 100 bucks. Anyone used one?

Panasonic Viera TCP42G10 42" Plasma HDTV - 1080p, 1920x1080, 16:9, 3x HDMI at TigerDirect.com

I have a Viera 50" X1 series (almost the same thing) and it's virtually lag-free for IIDX.
If you can, go to a Best Buy with your IIDX setup and try some of them out.

I tried playing 2dx on my mom's 40" W5500 and its unplayable even with game mode enabled.

I own the 720p version of this and it works excellently, so this should be good as well.

Should be good, usually plasmas doesn't suffer from input lag.

It's actually really good when you stand 3ft back from the screen and not in the way of the projector lol. That's why i'm thinking about getting a plasma. so when i get the re double, i can stand right in the middle of the screen lol.
