Wanted to chime in here! I am playing on a 46 inch XBR6, which is an 08 model. On game mode, I have to set it to -1. I'm also using component speakers, rather than the tv speakers.

edit: Also, glad to be playing iidx again after a 2 year break!

There's this tv on sale on craigslist.org for $150. Should i buy it? Because i'd like to have my screen at least the same size as the iidx machine's tv. How big is the real iidx arcade's tv?

IIDX machine screens are actually quite large, and a lot of them used to be projection type screens for this same reason.

Just get it before it goes away, and have another person with you when you move it around. Those can be pretty heavy

I found this at kmart for $600! Is this a good tv with no lag? There's no reviews on it yet on their site. Let me know...

It may have audio lag, so make sure you plug your PS2 into some PC speakers or something that won't lag. It probably has no visual lag.

It seems to be a given that if you want to play IIDX laglessly with an HDTV, all you have to do is connect it to a set of external speakers or headphones.

I recently tried out this PC gaming monitor which had obvious visual lag displaying SD content. But since I had the sound connected directly to a set of PC speakers, the lag seemed unnoticeable. I was able to match some of my high scores on IIDX empress by 20-40 pts of difference with this setup.

So if you wanna "fix" your TVs lag, just hook up a stereo system and your good to go.

Convenient that quantium is selling his television above, because I happen to own the 40" version of that television, model # LC-40E67UN, and I can also confirm that it indeed has zero lag. I play IIDX on a timing adjust of 0. I can put up a video on youtube eventually showing how it works.
