Granted, it could either be that it was a second hand/used/upgraded unit so it's not necessarily 20k (USD$).

I doubt you can get a brand new machine in the first place (through legal/official means) because this machine can't be sold outside Asia region (as of the moment).

Of course, it's entirely possible (though depending on how much dough you have, u will have to sacrifice something).

i definately noticed it when I was playing taiko and guitar freaks...

i was like "seriously? how am i getting POOR"
so i had to rehook up my system to my old tv in the other room and no problem...
and then i realized its a HORRIBLE lag issue -_-;

....at least i can change the timing on GF/DM...but uhh for the other games .. <cries>

Sorry if anyone else mentioned or posted this before, but has anyone else seen this demo of the Aquos? The guy actually shows the difference in timing using IIDX at the end. Kinda interesting.

It has already been posted. Can someone please confirm the lag (or lack there of) on that television? The demo was very convincing, but a confirmation would be nice.

The parry window in 3s is -way- too wide to even think that it would be a factor. It's all knowing the timing after landing the first parry for a chain. And don't even get me started about Smash Brothers; it's probably the worst way to check. Not to mention that a 480p signal would require less processing than a 480i signal. For IIDX, he doesn't show that he's played with 0 offest, nor is there any way to account that he has just learned to live with the lag. It might not be as bad as the first generation of HD sets, but I've already posted the only way to ensure you have "no lag":

Maybe so, I've managed to pass some level 6's with AA's and 7's with A's in 14 keys. Maybe I've gotten used to the "lag" but it really isnt that bad, almost non-existent to me. Oddly enough when I play drummania I used the lag tester (in V3) and it stays at zero.Weird but oh well, im really happy with this tv, i'll be sure to post a picture of my setup in the other thread.

The Sharp Aquos TV model that you're all speaking of doesn't seem to be available outside the Americas.

Yeah I totally agree with you about the 3rd Strike parry window. However, "L Cancelling" is what that guy is trying to demonstrate in smash brothers, which you need to be precise with. But like you said, it doesn't prove that there is zero lag for games with strict timing windows such as IIDX.

Well I did message the guy on YouTube asking that same question and he basically told me that he was playing without timing adjustment at all. However, we need more peer review and more studies to ensure that it's truly fast instead of his mind adapting to the screen's timing.

Yeah, whatever that guy was trying to show off has no bearing since it doesn't require a purely visual cue as to when it needs to be executed; it can be muscle memory based off of timing instead.
