Did you try messing with some of the menu settings? I changed one of the response time options which helped alot in the earlier styles 3rd - 8th. All in all its a pretty cool TV. | |

However
I do believe that the major difference would be in what resolution is being outputted as well as to what resolution(s) is/are supported by your TV.
I'm thinking that PS2 versions output only via interlaced (hence the need for I-P conversion before the HDTV can display it) while AC versions output a progressive signal (which is more direct).
Just a hypothesis though......but it is the best explanation that I can think of atm

However, it is an RPTV (rear projection) so by default, it won't have lag.
Any RPTV would work wonders for BM IIDX
Though personally, this doesn't apply to me (as I'm not fond of RPTVs)
I'm rooting for Flat Panel HDTVs (though atm, only Sharp Aquos LCD TVs and Panasonic Viera Plasma TVs are one of the only few flat panel HDTVs that is acceptable for BM IIDX).
I guess there is really a long way to go I suppose Quote: |

| I tested this on my Samsung LCD TV (Bordeaux Plus) and I can tell you that the only difference between composite and component is picture quality and detail.
Things such as response time and output are not a factor in this (for the PS2 ver.).
Unless I'm mistaken on that...

If it doesn't work I can keep my other TV for IIDX but it's big and cumbersome.

If so
Then I can jump in as they're selling these here for less than 100k pesos.
That is dirt cheap for a Full HD 1080p HDTV
So I'm hoping (at least) that this set would work for BM IIDX.

Besides
Sony quit RPTV production since last year (that's why only their Bravia SXRD units only come in the form of front projectors).
Samsung is also moving away from their DLP business to concentrate more on LCD (then plasma as secondary).
The only ones that are very keen on RPTV are JVC and Mitsubishi atm.
Besides which
As Quantium stated, RPTV units are big, fat and heavy. Not to mention that they aren't very portable either (especially if you wanna move this thing).
RPTVs IMHO are so 90s (yet we are living in the 21st century). In fact, this goes against the intention of buying a new HDTV.
What about Laser TVs then?
Laser TV sets are what RPTV needs to stay competitive. Laser TV derivatives of RPTV (like what Mitsubishi is testing atm) cuts down on weight, thickness and power consumption
Unfortunately, I haven't heard any recent news about it (as the introduction of newer and better flat panel TVs are literally "killing" the RPTV market).
So yeah
If they release Laser RPTVs, then that's good................but in their current from of being fat, heavy and gargantuan, choosing RPTVs is considered a big no-no for me
My two cents.......

Not lagless in any way, shape, or form. Had to set it to -3 for any sort of decent timing, but it was still off... so I went back to my 19" CRT for IIDX. Oh well.
