Konami ASC - weird turntable problem

Last night I was playing as usual, and at some point (i didn't notice exactly when), the turntable stopped registering in the clockwise direction.

Spinning the turntable either way now registers ingame as a counter-clockwise spin (tried on 3 different mixes). Still playable for the most part, but obviously annoying, and it tends to kill my combo if multiple fast scratches are needed since the game thinks i haven't stopped moving it in one direction.

Could something have got tangled up inside the turntable? Anyone heard of this happening before?

a friend of mine had the same problem at his jpn koc.
one of the TT sensors was destroyed/damaged.
he didnt know the reason. after that he sold his koc.
try waranty if you already have it.
otherwise you only can try to replace the sensor.

FIXED!

For now, anyway, I don't know how likely it is to happen again so i'm treating the TT like an antique from now on.

The solution - a good, hard slap. Out of sheer frustration for not being able to enjoy Happy Sky properly, i smashed my hand down flat on the TT, and it went both ways from then on...
