I ask because they sell other colors than what dao and arcadeshop.de offer and I want to try them. DJ Dao controllers (and IIDX machines) use the Cylinder type LED, although the ones he uses are slightly different. The ones Dao uses are the actual LED soldered to a tiny piece of PCB, rather than the "wedge base". This is due to clearance through the LED hole in the key.
However, I've been using LEDs with a wedge base, and they fit fine, but I did have to shave down the edges of the LED holder slightly though, due to them not fitting through the bulb holes in the actual sanwa key.
Dotted line is where I shaved, around the complete circumference.

Still, do you (or anyone for that matter) think that it's possible for a custom LED lighting setup for DJ DAO Real Edition and the actual Konami IIDX arcade deck??? You know where the LED lights for the TT and keys can be transformed into a multi-color setup???
(Emphasis on LED light bulbs that are multi-color and/or can change color)
If yes, are there any possible ideas on how this could be done???

I'd imagine there'd be a simple circuit, controlling a set of Red, Green, and Blue LEDs, phasing through a cycle, mixing together to create different colours. I can't imagine this being easy for each individual key though, as there isn't really much room around or inside each key to work with.
Or... there might be special LEDs available, that change colour depending on what voltage is passing through them. :p
I'll do some research and get back to this thread.
EDIT: I found out that they're called "RGB LEDs" as seen here, and it seems they need a simple programmed IC to control. The easiest option would be to rip out the circuit from another device, such as an air freshener ( shown here).

Only problem I can think of is if the sequence always starts on the same colour, you'd have to hold down the button to get the multicoloured effect.
Not sure how Dao controllers would cope with the 6.3v rating, either.
