The only machine I know of that may be remotely for sale is the one at Buffalo Bill's in Las Vegas, but it's an 8th Style and apparently has grafitti on it and smells like the bathroom. If you're willing to go through the trouble of upgrading and restoring, you could try them.

well, if you are patient, you can see if they release the newest version... GOLD. Or you can... wait channelbeat, and coinopexpress are out. You might want to find that guy that contacted you last night. or see what else happens on the forum. I say contact betson, and say your interested in GOLD though.

Dont listen to him. Channelbeat and Coinopexpress both have infamous history behind them. You are better off getting a machine through contacts or arcade machine distributers (reputable ones)

Yeah, whatever you do DO NOT go through Channelbeat. I would just look around online. I've seen SN machines on Amazon lol. But I highly doubt you'll see IIDX machines there considering the fact they're not supposed to be sold in the U.S. I'd consider buying an older machine then looking around on JP auctions for a Distored kit. Or, you could wait and see if they decide to release Gold here and get that, like it's been said.

Waiting is bad in this case. It's better if they contact Betson ASAP if they're interested in IIDX and are willing to go for GOLD, since the US release still isn't assured yet.

Im looking more for hookups as to distributors that are known to have a machine or contact info for an individual selling a machine.

10+ is the style requirement.

GOLD is out of the question due to price desire of < 14K. Ive already called my local D&B and some other arcades about GOLD and if they are interested they contacted Betson. This arcade has a budget though (and a greater desire to actually get the game).

Im really looking for a 10th that I could get upgraded to DD.

Anyone wanna inform me as to what styles can upgraded to what?

Can only 10+ be upgraded to DD? I know all pre-gold cant upgrade to GOLD.

This isn't true; all styles can be upgraded to all later styles, but to move from styles on one hardware platform to another requires that hardware platform. If my intuition is correct, these platforms are:

Twinkle (1st to 8th)
PC v1 + USB I/O (9th to DD)
PC v2 + USB I/O (GOLD)

You may have noticed the preponderance of DD upgrade kits that include the PC. Unless I'm missing something, those are not sufficient to upgrade an 8th or below because you will still be lacking the USB box. The fact the USB box is not included with these kits suggests to me that the GOLD upgrade reuses the same USB box and just introduces a new PC. Having said all that, though, you are probably going to have an easier time finding a whole 9th or above machine instead of just the USB box.

Although he....was asking if there is a machine that he can recommend for his nearby video arcade/game center.

If he is still interested, then it is highly recommended that he contact Konami/Betson & reserve an order for a machine. By that way, it increases our chances of an English-text version release of BM IIDX. That is the best option.

That's if he and/or location is still interested.
