Need help trying to decide (DJ Dao vs KASC)

Okay, I'm almost set. I've got a new Japanese PS2, and my LE IIDX Gold CS showed up in the post so now I need to decide on a IIDX controller.

I'm torn between both the Konami ASC and DJ Dao's IIDX FP7. I've owned a KASC in the past and it was great. It didn't give me any problems at all. The only things I didn't like was the size of it (it was BIG) and the turntable was a bit slick.

I'm leaning towards the Dao since it's the closest you can get to a "arcade" feel. The build quality looks great from what I've seen on his site.

But here's the thing, after going through the thread its a little worrying. People guessing when they'll receive their controller (and even confirmation of their payment). It seems like a guessing game as to what is happening with your controler after you send payment. The BIG thing that bothers me is if it arrives messed up. I've dabbled in controller mods (Simple things like changing Sanwa and Seimitsu buttons in Arcade sticks). I've never soldered anything in my life either, so I don't know what I'd be getting myself into.

So I'm going to ask for help seeing that there are quite a few people on this forum who know what's up. What should I buy and why. If you have a Dao feel free to chime in and let me know how you like it.

You might wanna go for the Dao. It looks nice, and I bet it feels just as nice as the arcade. Also, it lights up.

DJ Dao. I've had mine for months and haven't had any problems with it. Not a single sticky key or burnt out light.

DJ DAO Platinum Edition Evolution or Real Edition
-If you like Sanwa buttons and lighting for keys and TT. Slightly cheaper too

KASC
-If you're a big of "KONAMI" branded products
-You'd have to wait for the next sale though (for price discounts)

The DAO buttons are brilliant, even the DJDAO custom buttons are better than the KASC buttons.
As far as repairs go, the big problems that require a new board, soldering, etc. aren't that common, most of the time you'd just need to replace a microswitch, which is as simple as putting together a lego person.
Even if you do get a problem you can't fix, you can always send it back to DAO and he'll fix it, you don't have that sort of support with a KASC.

You wont be disappointed. I have a DAO PE and holy shit it's the most amazing controller ever.

It's even better than the Samba de Amigo maraccas.
