Marketplace Rating: 0 | Need ideas for how to hit certain keys while scratching Ok, I have been trying to figure this out. In the arcade, I play soliders last ballad but one type of chord I can't while scratching in the arcade is 1 3 5 7. (I play 1p side) I can't figure out how to do it. I tried middle finger and index, but I can barely reach and mess up a lot. Trying to use my left thumb makes it so I'm just smashing both 1 and 3 with my palm, which I know will screw me over in the long run, and I can't figure out what to do to consistently hit the chord while scratching on the TT. Anyone have any ideas? I have been starting to incorporate my left thumb into my play finally, but, it isn't helping me in this situation. Any ideas will be much appreciated.

Left pinky, left-ring finger, middle.
then
Right-thumb, right-pointy, right middle. BUT, if I am doing some speed songs, then I use my right-ring and pinky fingers. It gets a little tricky at first, but its well worth it in the end .
See yaz bye. | |

Marketplace Rating: 1 | I used to have trouble doing all the scratches on FIRE FIRE, so what I used to do was I used to put Auto-Scratch on and play with the left hand behind my back so that my right hand would get used to doing all the chords so that my left hand would be able to do the scratches without a problem.

Now scratch+1+2 + right hand stuff fucks me up, but I'm practicing using my left thumb for 1 and left index for 2.

Though seriously, one-hand play will do wonders for you. It'll be a breeze for you when playing Rakuen [a].
Or if you can't do one hand and are still more dependent on two-hand, then my suggestion is to NOT use pinky scratch. Instead, do what this guy does:
DJ MASA YouTube - Dirty of loudness Hyper
To illustrate:
When he does let's a 2+5+7 chord (or 9+12+14 since he plays 2P side), he uses his left ring (on 2/9), his left index (on 5/12) and his left thumb (on 7/14). This then leaves his right hand to use the scratch/turntable WITHOUT extending it into the keypad.
Now that's one hell of a playstyle. Quote: |
Practice however you feel comfortable.
| Though seriously, if you can't do what I suggest.........then yeah, you can follow the advice of this guy.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | OK seriously why is this even an issue. I refuse to accept that anyone would have trouble scratching with their left hand and using their right to hit 1357. use all four fingers or your thumb and 3 fingers. Seriously it's not even the slightest bit awkward.
If I have to scratch and hit a key i usually end up using my left index finger. like for 1 or 2...I guess I use my thumb for 3. I use my thumb for 1 and index for 2 if they need to be hit close together on scratches.
