Thumbs up New here, but have a problem.

Hi, I'm T Pants, I'm new here but I've been lurking for a while. It's a great forum and site and I really enjoy it. You guys are always on top of things and I feel like I am on the pulse of the Bemani world when I'm here. There is however something that bothers me, and all I can say is that I am in shock.

All you guys do is talk about 7-Key and IIDX, a mode and game which in all honestly does not hold up to the quality that is 5-Key and other ORIGINAL Beatmania games. Honestly, Konami would have done a good move just to end it there at final because that's when it reached the peak of perfection. 5-Key is just better, why you ask? Well, I wouldn't put up a claim unless I had something to back it up. Here are some facts:

-5-Key can be played with one hand mimicking the true DJ experience (My friend is a DJ, I know.)

-They will never release new Beatmania after Beatmania Final, so you know it's always consistant.

-Starting with Beatmania III, they released the foot pedal, a brand new way to play and was given up for some reason. My foot is always bored when I play IIDX.

-Also with Beatmania III introduced the floppy drive system, one of the greatest things to happen to beatmania. They got rid of that too, even though it was an amazing system.

-Back to the foot pedal, an amazing addition but only caught on to the true hardcore players. (I mean, hell scaper -slashing mix- with foot pedal is amazing if done right.)

-Finally, let's be honest, 5-Key just doesn't get the respect it deserves, it IS a option on IIDX, but they make it seem like it's for beginners only.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, where is the 5-Key love. It's better and more fun to play. All you guys don't give respect to the old school, underground UK style.

It's called the evolution of the series. People still talk about 5 key but considering the last 5key game was many many years ago, it's natural you're gonna see more posts about IIDX.

As far as 5 key's music goes, it seems kinda bad from what I've heard. If all of 5 keys' songs have music that's like Shox and u gotta groove, then I'm disappointed.

I'll be happy if anyone can prove me wrong and recommend any "better" 5 key songs to listen to, because it's got a bad impression on me so far.

It's a good thing they added that ultra-realistic DJ foot pedal.

In my opinion, some of the better songs in 5-key are Love D Rive, Cloudy Music, Deep Clear Eyes, Crymson, and Logical Dash. I rarely play 5-key, though, and haven't heard nearly all of the songs.

I still get nostalgic with 20, November. I still think it's a fantastic song.

I play 5 Key whenever I'm in central london. It wouldn't get a look in if there was a IIDX cab though.

2nd the props to 20, November.

I absolutely love the 5key soundtrack, but I could see it being something you had to experience before 2dx to completely appreciate it, though there are still a lot of standout tracks that everyone should enjoy.

I got my start in bemani back around 99 with beatmaniaGB, then moved to BM98 before eventually getting a psx setup to play on. There's something the old music had that's completely absent in most of the 2dx soundtrack. I have no doubt I had more fun playing beatmania than I do playing 2dx, but I think I've found 2dx to be a lot more fulfilling and certainly a lot more challenging.

Maybe I feel this way because the entire music game concept was new to me when I started playing, by the time I got around to 2dx it was starting to wear off a bit and now I just see it as a bunch of goals to meet and stuff to accomplish. Either way, I still go back to beatmania once in a while and just have a blast playing through the old track lists.

Liked the first one
Second sounded like Tribe Groove at first, then changed into something else
Third sounded too much like erasermotor
