Total Tokens: 9,496.19 Donate Tokens | No more IIDX in the US? ... beatmania Da! Da! Da!? Where!? You know, I sware that bemani and kanomi are completly aware that they have a lot of US buyers of their other games that aren't in America or at least the beatmania series.
So it brings up the question, do you think the purposly watered down the US version to turn people away so that they wouldn't have to release another one over here?
And do you think they'll ever release another over here EVER?
Oh, I saw on one of the threads that there is a game called beatmania Da Da Da!! and beatmania Da Da Da!! The best Da! where you use a computer keyboard to hit the letters.
Now, I ran around the net a bit and here is what I concluded.
1. The game is ultra old and is hard to find.
2. The game is ultra rare and hard to find.
3. The game just sucks so it's basically imposible to find.
Every place that sold it, (2) were sold out.
Luckly, Sp0rk was able to find it for me and I should have it soon. YAY!
Thanks Sp0rk!

I have nothing really else to say :|

So, barring a miracle or change in management philosophy, I doubt the U.S. will ever see and IIDX game again. Suck.

Well, what if this was just a beatmania released to all of America to see if they could draw more people to just get the japanese ones?
I mean, think about it. It's actually a pretty good business stratigy.
Heck, it sure worked on me. When I heard about it, I was so dissappointed that it was only in Japan then POOF! They have an American release. I get it, play it, think it's great. Then I hear from everyone else that the Japanese ones better. So of course I go and get both 10th Style and RED, and soon Happy Sky and da da da if I can find it. What if that was their plan all along?

BMUS was a big flop. Most stores had one copy in. One. There were few people who knew about it. Many people who bought it already owned a Japanese version or knew someone first-hand who did.
The number of people buying JP games would increase .5% at best.
bmus was a big fat flop and went right under most people's radars. Sorry to say it.
I did appreciate it for being a cheap way to get a second controller, though.

I finally found it at Best Buy and they said they only had two in.
If anyone saw the interview on IGN or GameSpot, Kanomi said that they were just putting it out here for us to "try" because they didn't think we would like it. ... WELL HECK YEAH WE WOULDN'T LIKE IT SINCE YOU WENT AND MESSED IT ALL UP!!!
.... Um... THis is gonna sound dumb.... But really, I don't think the US version is that bad and there are a nice selection of songs on there I like playing. I also like that replay mode feature although it seems kind of dumb. But I like it because a lot of times I do really good on a song and then when I wanna show people, fate frowns upon me and for one reason or another, I do bad and as soon as they leave, I do good again. So the replay mode is good I think. But yeah, I don't think BM-US was that bad. Why does everyone say it was REALLY bad?

Total Tokens: 9,496.19 Donate Tokens | Why was it stupid. I unlocked it a couple days ago and thought it was pretty neat. 5 speed setting... Um... I might be wrong, but I don't even think 10 or RED has that speed on them. Only up to 4 I think. I might be wrong though.
I know the AC version of Happy Sky and I think RED does though.
Oh, which beatmania game did they get that menu music from? I know the options menu is from 10.
RED came out after the USA one... sooo... obvioulsy RED would be a bit better.
I wish they had made it so you could make a favorites list and sort songs though. And I like how there was an unlocking system on the USA version unlike 10 and RED which just had most of the songs already there for you to play. I kind of wish 10 and RED had had that included into the game.

I know the AC version of Happy Sky and I think RED does though. | HS5 is in DistorteD AC and later.
0.5 HS increments (1.5, 2.5, etc...) started with Happy Sky AC but were in 10th and RED CS as well. Quote: |

| Almost all of the interface music in BMUS (if not all) is from 9th style.

I think the problem that most people have is that:
1) Most players here have been "spoiled" by the Japanese IIDX games, considering the number of songs is around 86-89 or so. This makes most scoff at the 40 IIDX songs in the US version, and the 15 or so beatmania 5-key songs... almost rightfully so, since I think you could've fit more than just 50 songs onto the game and make it an even better release???
2) The learning curve is pretty severe. There aren't enough "transitioning" songs because of the small number of songs... so beginners suffer around the Normal (Light 7) era when trying to get to at least 5 or get ready for Hyper (7 Key). Not to say that transitioning in 9th or RED (the two styles I own) is that easy, but it was gentler than just USA alone.
I really hope they consider releasing a 2nd beatmania USA mix with proper marketing in the future. It wouldn't be the first time either (DDR USA 1st mix)... although it might help if they considered marketing beatmania IIDX arcade machines domestically!
And yes, if you get 9th style, you'll find that the music is exactly the same... BMUSA could also use a "gallery" mode like the JP games to attract anime fans, now that I think about it.

It's not exactly a game I'd sit and watch a replay on... OH! THere was one time I was board so I decided to make a "remix" of PARANOIAMAX on beatmania USA. It actually sounded kinda cool so I saved it in the replay section. lol
