Total Tokens: 80.94 Donate Tokens | Noise comparison: DJDao vs. JKOC vs. KASC? Alright, so I'm sitting here with my JKOC and I'm about to head to college in a few days.
Although I'm nowhere near being "good" at IIDX (aka: being able to pass even a handful of Anothers), I was just hypothesizing what I might do in the future about a IIDX controller.
The DJDao FP7 looks really spiffy...the KASC is apparently really reliable...
but my main question here is this:
How loud are they comparatively? I'd be getting the FP7 with the default DJDao buttons and Cherry microswitches rather than Sanwas.
I ask this because I wouldn't want to disturb other nearby dormers at college with my IIDX playing.
My JKOC seems pretty quiet, but I haven't been able to do any side-by side comparison. So will the FP7 be louder? Quieter? The same, just clickier? I've heard the KASC is loud as hell and really clunky sounding, but I'd like to get some confirmation.
Thanks. | |

Total Tokens: 835.70 Donate Tokens | I have a PEE with Dj Dao Custom Build , and an USKOC. My USKOC probably make the same noise as yours' J-one , and my PEE will probably make the same noise as your future fp7 ...
so yes , for SURE , it will be a lot louder than yours , but it's still depend the way you push on them.
But if you hurt your KOC and Hurt the Dao , sure, the Dao will be louder( but that's not horrible ... the only probelm will be if your friends sleep a few meters far from you ... ) | |

I use an FP7 and it hasn't woken up the people living directly behind me. However, playing gigadelic on my bassy ass stereo at 3 in the morning probably has. :P | |

Actually, the KASC are indeed reliable.
I have friends who had KASC as well as people here in BM who bought KASC units.
No sticky key problems (thanks to the use of microswitches......instead of plungers)
It's just that the DJ DAO and similar custom controllers are cheaper in price (and of course offer an experience closer to the arcade than what the KASC).
-----------
Either way, this shouldn't be a problem (ref. the noise coming from your playing).

Anyways:
I apologize though if I kinda misjudged your post a bit.

BUT IT IS LOUD. your roomates will hear it in the next room. My friends in Korea could hear it a few doors down in my apartment building when all else was quiet at night. But then my apartment was old and i suspect the walls were not all they could be. | |

Also it's not a pop'n controller so it's not deafeningly loud.

i already graduated from college and lived in the dorms for all 4 years and yes, any controller you have will make noise. but i figured that as long as i'm playing with the music coming out of my speakers and not via headphones, at least the roomies will hear more music and not just senseless tapping haha... | |
