If this IIDX turns out too americanized to the point where it sucks, which it won't since the americanization was just the in-game text from what I know, then i'll still play it because it's just a game.

It's different, and it's different for no really good reason.
However, the change has 0% impact on gameplay. So why care.

Seriously, if this is the kind of reaction that can be expected of people who would otherwise play the game, we might as well tell Konami to not bother and never ship the unit here. If you're going to shun the only IIDX machine Illinois has ever gotten (and judging by this thread, ever going to get) for bullshit reasons like this, you might as well visit the bowling alley so that you can piss on the machine while it's there.

I totally agree
Play the game for what it is. its all about the gameplay
seriously who cares about the scoring system or the anime art
Believe it or not the game is mostly about the music and the notecharts
Im so glad that IIDX AC is actually coming to the US and possibly eamuse opening up for the US as well
Im assuming after this if all goes well the type of arcades that have DDR Supernova would probably purchase IIDX
and another question would probably be if Betson would be making the arcade cabs for IIDX

I can maybe see around the same price as a SuperNOVA dedicab, but nothing too extraordinary.

be honest as lovely and fucking awesome as it would be to get IIDX stateside, there is no way that arcades are going to make back the money that it takes to buy one of those machines.
look at 8 on the Break in dunellen NJ. they have had it for like maybe i think 3 years now or 4 ( 8th style ) and they still have not payed it off yet.
i still want to see how Konami is going to pull this off ( if they decide to )
also lol at twisted metal clone.

of course, this is considering the machines are not gold and that america actually will be getting a few IIDX machines. i doubt my arcade (time out in alabama lol) would get one.

IIDX is a deluxe cabinet game, equivilant to something like Time Crisis or Racing games. Mario Kart AX cabinets were something like 18-20 thousand a piece upon release. Time Crisis games run twice that, Initial D cabinets run around 15-20 thousand each - The only difference is that IIDX has a narrower audience.

and if they really want IIDX to succeed in the US, they'll make it affordable.
I mean really, what is so expensive about those cabs? It's not like they're loaded with Boise speakers, or Plasma Tv's....They can make them for cheaper and still be quality if they want to.
