I mean really, what is so expensive about those cabs? It's not like they're loaded with Boise speakers, or Plasma Tv's....They can make them for cheaper and still be quality if they want to. | Correction, they do have Bose speakers(if I recall corectly and a really expensive screen).

Not to mention they have to pay the artists for all the time they take to make this game - and that since IIDX is very niche, they sell fewer cabinets, so the price for each will be a bit more than the norm.

If anybody screws up, it may be Betson with cabinets and not Konami. LoL SN cabinets,

What that means is that it might not get enough plays to warrant such a price tag and thus the arcade would be losing money from an unplayed machine just sitting there looking pretty and racking up the electricity bill.
Where as Time Crisis, the game built to eat your money, gets played a lot and can pay itself off in the long run.

Most of this news isn't really "that new" I can say first hand that Betson and Konami have been working on this stuff since August of last year. BakaOrochi, myself and a couple other members of staff have been in touch with them on it all since about that time regarding these releases, we just haven't been allowed to say anything up until now. We had to ask for permission to confirm the IIDX stuff when we posted it, and we'll more than likely end up with more news on Guitar and Drum Revolution (as they'll be named in the U.S.) in the coming months.
While getting this news through the grapevine is fine, we'll be receiving official updates from both companies up until release, so keep checking back for the actual word on it all from Betson and Konami. Myself and a couple other members of staff will be attending ASI in Las Vegas at the end of March, and I will most definitely be getting some official statements then. I'm already working on booking all of my appointments as we speak.
