In This Thread, we discuss the wonderful and talented bemani artist SLAKE.

Takehiko Fujii(a.k.a SLAKE, SPARKER, CALF, DEPROGRAM MAN, shinpei, and GARIBEN KEN) has almost 70 songs in all the Bemani series. He is also part of the duo Magic Gang, with fellow Bemani artist NAPAKICK.

While's Slakes bemani music ranges from Techno, Trance, Jazz, Goa, Deep House, Two Step, and the ever famous Death Disco, Slake's upcoming album release "Beyond The Dead Future" is a mix of drum'n'bass and hard breaks with a dark synth overtone. I love it, and you should too.

and that's only like a third of all the songs he's made. Jesus.

Overall I think he's a positive asset for the Bemani set, but when he makes bad songs, they are really really really fucking awful and terrible songs.

I got my copy of Beyond The Dead Future in the mail yesterday and I have to say its the best Bemani artist albums, or very close to the best.

Everyone should get it, seriously. I just want to say thanks to DJP for making it happen and I hope SLAKE keeps making incredable music.

You put things beneath Cloudy Music. Your credibility is gone.

I was never a huge fan of Slake, I've really just thought of most of his work as "hey this is kinda cool". The only songs that have stood out for me were Breeding and Blocks; I remember hearing Watering once and liking it a lot though.

I love slake, so I am posting in this thread.

Some of his synth sounds can be annoying, but he also uses a lot of really nice, mellow sounds with awesome and equally mellow chords. Fairly early examples of this are in I'm For Real and Cloudy Music (remember, it was a 5-key song first), and it really evolved by 9th style and on.

Also, Texture is completely and utterly badass.

Edit: is this better suited to the Media Discussion board?

He's not just SPARKER! He's also SPAKER! (Happy Hopper, DMX 2nd) DJ Taka doesn't do all of the classical remixes!

I like Mint, I want a clean version that is supposed to be coming out on the Distorted album.

Mint sounds like the next big hit.
