If you are buying based on wait, go for the DJ DAO. Steve will take forever and a half.
Also, important to note, all turntable issues have been fixed with the new PEE, and the ring of hard plastic is completely gone. Its arcade perfect now. The only con I would give the PEE is that it is really expensive.
I would always recommend the PEE over the DASC.

I would say go with the PEE. My buddy as a DASC and I have a PE and PEE, and I have to say that the Dao's are much better.

I'm sure Steve is a nice guy and all, but to put it bluntly, the way he handles business is atrocious. I've been waiting eight months for my controller (and I still have no clue when I'm going to get it), and many others have been waiting over a year. He told me in November:
"We'll have a lot of parts in the coming weeks to make black W/ brushed metal plexiglass, so it shouldn't take too long to complete."
Then on May 10 of this year, he said:
"I need to get to some small finishing work, pack it, and ship it. You'll have it just around the time Gold comes out, at this rate."
Now it's June, and I'm sitting here playing GOLD on my American KOC because the ETAs that Steve gives you don't mean anything. I last e-mailed him nine days ago and have not yet received a response.
Seriously, Steve needs to use a queue system or something and stop accepting orders when the real ETA on them is somewhere between when you don't care about IIDX anymore and when your arthritis prevents you from playing the game anyway.
