Poll: IIDX difficulty rankings (11-12)

Because of all of the different opinions on how hard various 11s and 12s are, I thought it'd be kind of interesting to compile an organized ranking of what the general concensus is on the hardest 11s and 12s (i.e. what the X hardest songs in the game are).

For now I'm going to just do 1st-Happy Sky because not many people have played DistorteD, but I might redo it with DD CS a bit after that comes out :shrug: We'll be going off of Hibroad for definitions of what is an 11 and what is a 12.

This is going to sound kind of confusing, but here's how to participate: there are 58 11*s and 26 12*s. Rank them from hardest to easiest and number them (ex. 1. Scorpion Fire 2. Mei 3. OML). This way I can add up the points and determine the hardest 12 and 11 as the lowest amount of points and the easiest as the highest amount of points. This way I can rank them by number of points to give everyone a general concensus of what the order for difficulty is for clearing 11s and 12s. I'll keep track of the results and then post them after a week or two (once a large amount of people have responded.

This is for CLEARING, not scoring. What is hardest for you to hard/normal clear? Using the normal chart, mirror, sudden+/towel, random, sran, whatever

See, the problem with this is that this thread is going to be filled with people who haven't even cleared half of the songs they're listing. So they're either going to fill in what they hear by word of mouth or what they can guess by looking at the notecharts.

I mean, just to take the current example, your VJA page says you have an E on AA[a] but you can claim with any sort of authority that PF Concerto[a] is harder than Mei[a]? Where'd you get that from?

because although I can't do most of it (chord streams are my biggest weakness), the end of AA makes enough sense that if I could physically do it, pattern-wise it wouldn't be nearly as hard for me to clear as Scorpion Fire [a]. Although I can do around the first 1/3-1/2 of Scorpion Fire, I won't be able to do the end for a very very long time; I still fail the 7k around 1/4-1/3 of the time, and that is a lot less complex than the ending of the [a].

I do see what you mean; but if you've played through them, you should have a general idea of which are harder or easier for you... kind of like having ideas of what 10s or 11s you would be closest to passing next in the past.

also, I'm not claiming authority, just giving my personal opinion on which are hardest for me.

mei does not belong that close to the top. mei turns into a 10 once the bpm fuckery is over. (just my opinion though) i'd more than likely put nageki no ki over mei, if we're counting distorted songs.

also i had no idea gigadelic 7k was a 12. now i feel better about only passing it once :P

because that's exactly what i said now isn't it.

if you're insisting that mei's first half is NOT harder than it's second half, then i just don't know what to say.

i wasn't disagreeing with you, by the way. no need to get your panties in a bunch. i can see mei being in the top 5, but NOT #2.

This is a minor detail, but aren't some 12s easier than some 11s? wouldn't that mix the list?

the last 1/3rd of that song is harder than the first 90% of One More Lovely [A]. it's definitely not a 10*, but it is less brutal than the first 2/3rds of the song.

Isn't there just an easier and authoritative way to do this? Look up each of these songs on vj army and rank them depending on how many people report AAAs and AAs...Scorpion fire and Mei have no AAAs, so they should be at the top...Blue Mirage has only one AAA, so that should be next etc...

Otherwise if you're basing this on everyone's individual strengths and weaknesses, I don't see how you're going to get anything but convoluted variations of disagreement.
