Default PS2 to parallel drivers

HI..

Can someone help me on this. I have a PS2 to parallel adapter and try to make it work with a IIDX KOC but it gets not detected.

I tried NTPAD and PSXPAD both worked fine with a standard Dual Shock controller but won't work with a KOC. if someone have another driver or a tweaked PSXPAD driver.. I would very appreciate

I know I could use a USB adapter and have one, but want to try this one, cause supposed to be less lag with parallel than USB

thanx in advance

There is supposed to be less lag, you're correct.

I have a PS2 -> LPT1 adapter, and I could never get it to work. No idea why. Good luck. If you figure anything out, please yell my way.

i placed an order for one of these through levelsix.com and they never filled my order, nor did they ever respond to any of my e-mails. however, if someone knows of a definitive adapter to buy and drivers that go along with it, i'd be interested

I had the same thing happen with levelsix and I have to question if they are even in business anymore cause nobody's heard a peep from them in years.

I have a memory card drive that connected through the parallel port and it made a big deal about changing the parallel port connection type in the BIOS to EPP or ECP or EPP+ECP.

Maybe your adaptor needs to have that setting changed as well.

I'm taking a wild guess but maybe the only thing those adapters support are traditional Dual Shocks since a lot of those generic looking PC controllers are following the PS2 mold. Maybe you can find some kind of user made driver to see if the KOC to see if it can trick adapter to make it think its a Dual Shock.

But I'm not too sure if those drivers exist but hey its an idea.

A lot of people use KOCs with a parallel adapter. You guys must be doing something wrong.

From what I've heard US KOCs and Parallel Adapters don't mix, but the JP KOCs do. I'm not sure though as my DA uses a JP KOC board.

You could be right.
I just posted in the thread over in simulation about this about psxpad:
PS to USB Adapters

Doesn't seem to work for my USKOC, it doesn't recognize it.
I have this parallel adapter:

Any help would be appretiated.
thanks.

Who made the adapter? Does it have a USB cable for power? If so, is it plugged in? If not, well, it probably isn't driving enough power.

I made the adapter myself flollowing this tutorial.

Connect the PSX pad to PC

I don't use usb cable for power, because with a regular controller all work perfectly.

This week end i'll add USB power to my adapter, and post here to tell you the result.
