PS3 Compatability?

My PS3 (Japanese version) is coming next week, and I was wondering if there have been any compatibility issues with the PS2 IIDX games or the japanese controllers.

I believe the controllers will not work. Any official copies of the Japanese games should be compatible.

This is the exact same thing that's keeping me from getting a PS3. I really want one, but if I can't play IIDX on it, then forget it. IIDX is all I play now. :P

I know that the controller will work, there's an adapter (I forgot the company) that's 15 bucks that has the PS1/2 controller port on one end, and a USB slot on the other so you would plug that into the PS3. And I know the PS3 is region free, but I think that's only on PS3 games, not PS1/2. But I could be mistaken.

If he's getting a Japanese PS3 though Japanese PS2 games will be fine IIRC.

And I had also read about a USB adaptor working with GH controllers come to think of it, so that should work if you can find the right adaptor.

You're right in that PS3 games are region free, but the PS2 games (IIDX) are still region encoded.

Time to look up USB adapters then.

Yeah, I think the company's like Nyco or somethin like that. Just google-

"PS3 USB Controller Adapter"

That's how I found it.
