a question about older styles

idk if there's a thread about this. i searched and i haven't come up with anything so here it is.

my question is : on the older styles ( 3rd - 5th, not to sure about 6th or 7th) i've noticed that you cant exit out of a song like you normally would on RED or HS. and sometimes the timing would be alright on one song, but others seem a little off and sometimes the judgements are all over the place. i know there are those songs where the timing is just crap, but i picked up on this also on 8th.

is this true, and if not can someone help me out?

yeah, i know. im one of those guys who switch styles A LOT cuz i dont wanna overplay HS and whore out every single song until im tired of it, but im pretty sure there are some people like myself who go back to those old skool days and such

To exit out of a song in the older styles, hold Start. You can only do that in Free Mode though.

As far as timing, 3rd has a bunch of songs that have really messed-up timing (Gambol, Overdoser, e-motion, Soft Landing, etc etc) and it's kind of infamous for that. Styles past 3rd don't have that problem nearly as much (or at all) though.

oh, so thats why i couldn't get out of a song... cuz of arcade mode...
