I want to know if any of you have any good suggestions so i can hook up the beat mania controller to the computer with any problems?
Apparently
Play-Asia has a lot of these PS2<->USB converters that you speak of (though they're more known as joypad converters; same thing though)...........if that's what you're asking for (correct?)

Unfortunately, a number of these devices aren't good for IIDX. Some of them have an interface lag which could tack on a few milliseconds (though if you want to adjust your internal timer you always can) and some suffer from a much more serious problem of inactive turntables.
While I've personally never used one, I can't say for certain, but I do recall threads of yore stating that because of the way the turntable internally reads triggers, and the way it maps to a PS2 controller as up and down D-pad actions, the USB converter cannot associate which direction it is trying, so it tries to activate both. This will prevent you from doing any rapid-scratches.

IMO go w/ DJ DAO's LPT module.
Oh is that so?
Well I for one was about to buy one of these things (the Trio Linker II to be exact).
Guess those reviewers and posters there were just posting fraud/BS all along.
Can't believe I fell for that

So yeah........
I guess that leaves us with no choice:
We'd be better off with the DJ DAO conveter module instead
Also, what controller do you have? USKOC or JPKOC? Most/all of the USKOCs will not work with the LPT adapter because it cannot supply enough power to the controller so it'll probably not work or work spastically.
damn i believe i do have a USKOC. Well now i have to get another controller and adapter but definately thanks for the help
Quickest way to tell if you have a US or a J if you're not sure, look at the base around the turntable. US is rounded to match the curve of the table, J is squared.

Yup
And another way to know is that the engraving says "beatmania" instead of "beatmania IIDX".
That and that compared to a JKOC, the keys of this controller don't stick
These are probably the easiest ways to identify between the two controllers

Wouldn't it be possible though to use the power from your powersupply to add the addtional needed. (see: Connect the PSX pad to PC...it's under Appendix 2 about 3/4 down the page)
