Yes, it was awarded to the 5 top finishers in the IIDX RED internet ranking. Like it says there, there are only 5 copies in existance.

Also, anybody who even mentions anything piracy-related in this thread is going to get a heavy infraction.

Also, it was apparently pressed on unlacquered acetate, so with each subsequent play it degrades a bit. I've heard the songs on this album, and they're okay, but nothing too special. It's basically the holy grail of all Bemani albums though, with each copy reselling for ~$300 USD or more. Unfortunately, it's only been on sale a couple of times though.
TL;DR version: Really rare, but not really worth all the hype. Ownership of said album is strictly for bragging rights only.

Actually, the Pop'n Best Hits IR prize (a 7'' Homesick record, also came with a record player I think) seems to be a bit rarer. As in, I've seen one or two Red Traxxs (depends on if the one I saw on yjapan eventually became the one that started getting passed around the US Bemani community), but I've never seen the Pop'n one. I don't know how many people got one so the actual number of copies in existance might be more than Traxx.

PS I bought Red Traxx but whether or not it will ever get into my hands is another matter.

EDIT: Aside from those two, the only other Bemani records are the Beatmania Remixes record (sold at a concert, IIRC 200 copies made) and the Milestone record (sold at the beatnation summit, supposedly limited to 500).

there was one of those on sale on bemanistyle a little while ago, like last year. Everyone was jumping at it, and I had to ask how we knew he had such a rare item, and he provided picture proof.

Sure you wont probably see one for sale again, but it was cool that someone actualy had one that went to this site.

It really isn't all that good. Spiral Galaxy ~original extended~ is, but not the rest of it. IMO.

Er AFAIK Red Traxx is a Vinyl (I could be wrong) and if you only payed 22$ for it its bootleg and theres most likely no chance in hell you would ever find one of these at BestBuy (do they even sell imports?)
