i just saw the mendes notechart on autoplay and i was wondering if you guys think maybe it's time to add those flashing 12s?

personally i think flashing everythings should be there just so you can tell which ones are harder than the other because one 8 could be really easy and another 8 could kill you really bad. just an idea.

I don't really know if its necessary. I mean in red the difficulty between an 8 and a flashing 8 was huge. I don't know if its quite to that point yet.

None the less the idea is interesting. What songs do you think would be considered a flashing 12.

Well, either adding the flashing 12 or going up to 13. Seeing the difficulty progression through each style, I do think they're going to have to do something like that for the next game.

There's been a generic Level 13 sound byte in the game since DD, so I think that they were going to put it in but then decided against it. The thing sounds like the DD announcer robot voice too and hasn't changed since DD.

I think adding in 13's would be good at this point. I don't like the idea of the two songs having the same number but one is flashing.

Honestly though, Mendes is no where near as hard as Mei (to score on at least) imo, so you'd have to argue what takes priority in giving out ratings: clear rate or timing/scoring

mendes [a] reminded me of vanessa in terms of the piano and the chords reminded me of mei for whatever reason and it looked ridiculous. mendes has those same 3 notes like vanessa does anyway which is stupid hard for me to time. but i guess everyone is different in terms of that.

and at toast.:
the songs i'd say are flashing 12s are songs like mei, nageki, anti-ares, the obviously challenging hard 12s.

i think it'd be kinda cool if there was something like a groove radar to tell you the number of notes, scratches, stuff like that. i know it's been said before but it sounds cool to me.

example:

flashing 12s aren't a bad idea. but the only songs that really warrant the rating right now would be one more lovely, fake time, anti-ares, maybe AA, mei, nageki no ki, candy galy, mendes, and quell. oratio might be an entry "13" but I haven't played it myself.

Generally if you're getting into 12s you're probably gonna know which songs have killer endings like Fake Time and Candy Galy, so if they did make flashing 12s then it'd basically be telling the Japanese players what most of them already know. Since the majority of IIDX players are on e-amuse (Let's face it, non-japanese would be lucky to form 2% of worldwide IIDX players) they probably just use their intuition based on how high a song's clear rate is before picking an "easy" 12 or a hard one.

I wouldn't mind GOLD CS having an option to display the japan-wide clear rates for the songs that were on AC. Maybe have a personal clear rate or rival clear rate display to go along with it. That'd be a siiiiiick feature q:O

well yeah i've never actually played on an arcade machine so clear rate never really mattered to me. but that would be a really nice feature to have on CS instead of flashing everything.
