So what's with "Beatmania DaDaDa!"? Is this one of Konami's failed experiments or something?

It was a typing tutor. They also make a Popn Music DA in the same vein.

It was specifically for PC, and both games never went beyond the first mix.

Uhh, it came out for PS2 as well actually... the PC/Mac is some horrible abortion of a game that was just lisenced out as Beatmania Da (not da! da! da!) to some nameless company. What they released was a game that ran inside a quicktime movie. Horrible stuff...

I downloaded demos for both Beatmania and Pop'n Da recently and both are pretty useless! You play in a similar fashion to the original games then about halfway through the song you get three letter words dropping down as notes and you have to type the word before it reaches the bottom line...like I said, pretty useless.....!!

Damn, I love typing, I was hoping to hear something good about it, haha, I figured it'd suck though. Well not suck, just probably not very entertaining. Are the words you have to type in japanese, (japanese letters)?

reminds me off typing of the dead in a way, but Typing of the dead sonds alot better.

Yeah, typing of the dead was a classic!!

I think the words for beatmania and Pop'n Da were Japanese words but written in the Roman alphabet. Has the Japanese characters too, but they force you to type all words in a certain manner (the supposed correct way, I wonder)! For example, the Japanese sound "Tsu" is typed just "Tu", which makes it quite confusing...oh well!
