Marketplace Rating: 0 | Speed Changes HOnestly, in my opinion songs that change BPM during the song should be eradicated and set to a fixed BPM because they are a PAIN in the ASS.
Songs like era and mei are not too bad, its songs liike that damn FUN and stupid damned reggae song in happy sky that go from far too slow to far too fast, making playing them annoying.
Other opinions? | |

if you can't adjust to it, then it probably means you don't have enough skills yet to handle it.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | op.31 is like the worst thing ever
I don't mind speed changes much if there's time to adjust highspeed or toggle sudden+ or whatever, but otherwise it's kind of annoying
e: hopefully the ps3 releases won't have any at all!!!

Marketplace Rating: 0 | i can pass that stupid reggae song on another without having problems, i just hate the fact i have to play very slowly then quickly and its hard to change speeds between as stupid start button gets stuck easily. Its a nice song music wise, but i hate songs that change speeds so radically.
Also, i have a preference to play fast, but the fast part of that on 5 spd is too much. And of course, the rest of the song on 3-4 spd is painfully SLLOOOOW

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Also, i dont mind fast songs that get slow in the middle ie mei, sakura, due tomorrow, cause its only a small amount of slowness. Its when they are mainly slow with a small part of super speed in the middle. Those are the ones i HATE

Marketplace Rating: 0 | For double/half speed changes, it just irks me that I have to memorize the section leading up to the speed change and/or the section right after it then coreograph HS changes if I want to make sure it doesn't hurt my EX score.
Other than that, I don't mind.

Marketplace Rating: 3 | op.31 is a terrible song with a terrible note chart. >.>
It's rare to see someone willingly play op.31, FAXX, DUE TOMORROW, Mei, Sakura, that raggae song on HS (ラクエン I believe, or "rakuen") or any other song with extreme speed changes at the arcade. Anyway, these type of songs I usually have the LEAST fun playing and play last if it's in a CS. Although Tranoid I do enjoy to a certain extent.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | Rakuen is so fun! Just toggle your SUD+ and learn to scratch :p
I generally don't mind speed changes, but they did kind of ruin Fun and Lyricism. I like the speed changes in FAXX, they're so stupid that it's funny.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Don't like 'em, but they're every bit a part of IIDX as ear-bleeding heavy metal and improbably beautiful street racers, so I learned to get used to it. I generally don't like finagling with speed settings on the fly (my score would probably be worse, in fact), so I find something that works.
Rakuen (that's the reggae song, Napakane) is a blast. The middle speedup is nothing fancy. If there were tons of jackhammers and scales here, I could see the problem, but I never have trouble keeping up.
Don't see what's so horrible about fun (it's one of my favorites). Both speedups are completely predictable. With all the off-beat and staggered notes, you're probably not going to get a huge score on this anyway.
Fascination MAXX is unpleasant, but it'd be a beast no matter what.
I'm not a fan of the slowdowns on the Eras; ultimately, this is one of the places where I just have to concentrate. The rapid-fire scales, of course, are the hardest part.
Op. 31 is where it gets ridiculous, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who found this out. ALL the changes jump out of nowhere. Unless you memorize the whole song, you'll never be able to keep up. I'm not even sure what the ideal speed setting is here.
Ultimately, you just have to remember that not every song is the same. Some are a piece of cake. Some are busy but fair. Some are note-stuffed monstrosities. Some are smooth and clear, and some play dirty. That's IIDX for you.
