Default Sticky keys

I have had 2 KONAMI OFFICAL ARCADE CONTROLLERS, i dont know exactly what the name is but they are the expensive huge ones from Konami with the full sized turntable bla bla NOT the one you get for a hundred on play asia.
DAMN keys still stick at times on both. Cleaning helps but after a few hours play the buttons start sticking again. Has anyone else had this.......i was lead to believe prior to purchasing this never happens with these bad boys.
Suggestions?

Just clean them regularly. I never really had issues with sticking keys when I had a KASC a while ago. I cleaned it once a week, and it worked out great.

I don't understand how it could be sticking every few hours unless you play in dirt adn then with your controller....

Quit Fapping.

Does your room ever change temperature drastically?

How long do you play at a time? Playing for 6+ hours (and I've done this) makes your hands pretty sweaty. Culprit.

KASCs are notorious for... not having problems. Did you buy them used? You never know what someone did to them.

A LIGHT shaving may be in order. I mean use the super fine sand paper that must be WET to function properly. If I remember correctly, the rating I found for this fine-granulated sandpaper was a 60 (60 what- I don't remember).

Oh, never play with a watch/bracelet on your wrist, nor let anyone play as such. A friend of mine did so on another friend's KASC, scratched the Konami name below the white keys. He was pissed.

They were both purchased new, one from play asia one directly from Konami in Japan [alot cheaper]. I keep them clean, the buttons just tend to get stuck often, primarily button 1 or 3. Ill try sanding them back a bit as suggested, it worked a charm on my old KOC a few years back

You make it sound like it's some kind of achievement or something unnatural, when I have the free time 6 hours would be on the short end of one of my serious sessions :p

The copy of beatmania I bought was "refurbished" (meaning: someone had used it for a length of time and then returned it). Anyway, it had seemed to work fine, but after awhile 2 of they keys became hopelessly stuck. I opened it up to check it out, and it appeared as if someone had spilled cola on it, allowed it to seep in, and then decide returning it was the best option. So, after a good 15 minutes of cleaning, it was good as new.

Though, the start button still gets stuck for reasons beyond my understanding.

Even if the keys on KASC controllers are still based from the KOC, these are actually supported by actual microswitches (instead of plunger-like thingies on KOC units).

If so, then I can't see as to why a KASC (brand new as the OP is claiming) would actually have sticky keys?

I'm puzzled by this (since I've heard and others have proven that keys in KASC controllers don't stick AT ALL......especially brand new off-the-shelf ones).

Eh, I've been doing it for 6 years or so now and haven't been developing any symptoms :p I don't think 2dx is quite as conducive to CTS as say, playing a guitar is.

Or playing a piano, for that matter.

I've been playing Beatmania/IIDX for about 8 years, but I don't think I've ever played for more than a couple of hours - boredom gets me

The problem is with the actual keys getting slightly stuck against the plastic as they rise back up to the starting point. Cleaning helps but it doesnt take long for the friction to build up again. I tend to be VERY heavy handed when i play beatmania which may be a reason why i suffer from this more than many others. I have attempted using tougher springs but that didnt work so im going to have to sand back the key spaces and make the gap a little bigger.....

As for regular joe KOCs, what's the standard procedure to fix sticking? Basic dirt sticking. I've temporarily alleviated the problem with jamming an x-acto blade down there, scraping around a little bit (not to scrape off any plastic). But there's probably gonna come a time where I need to do some heavier work.

So if I take my controller apart (simple unscrewing, yes?) then should everything be pretty self-explanatory? I don't want to set up for this grand cleaning/scraping/WD-40ing run, to find out that I suck at electronics repair and I can't set my KOC back up again.

Thoughts? Modded KOC how-to links?
