Default Is there a good way to make my timing decent?

My timing is pretty much the worst thing ever, and I hate it.

My scores on a song that's about 2 levels about the max that I can do (I can do some 6s, so say, a 4) is usually something like 200 Flashing Greats and 150 Greats/Goods or something like that. And I had to plug my PS2 into a new HDTV recently, so that made things even worse.

Is there any way to make my timing not ass? Because I'm seriously about to just quit IIDX for keyboard Stepmania or something.

yeah, playing on an hdtv is not a good idea if you want to get good at timing.

after that, you should look at trying to find a speed that is most comfortable for you to score attack on. If it's high speeds low sudden + or low speeds with sudden+ is up to you. A good rule of thumb for learning to score is you should always use sudden+.

Indeed, unless of course your HDTV is a Panasonic Viera (at least G10/10th gen) or a Sharp Aquos with Vyper Drive.

Other than that and the experience is unbearable (this coming from someone who has tried IIDX RED PS2 on a Samsung LCD TV R81 and I tell you, the experience is so bad that you can actually fail songs because of it)

If you can only do 6's I really would not worry a whole lot about your timing yet. I didn't get my first AAA until I was clearing low 11's.

But if you MUST the only answer is practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice sudden+ practice

Timing Adjustment makes it bearable but in the end its not the same 95% of the time. I suggest getting a CRT that's clean and readable if possible. Like a small flat screen.

I can come nowhere NEAR close to passing 11s, but I've AAAd about 5 or 6 songs (between the 4-6 range). The hardest songs I can pass are 8s on Hyper.

Yeah if you're playing 6's I'd be more concerned with passing. It's not until you get really comfy (A or AA) with 10's when you should really hunker down on timing on songs 2-3 levels below your max.

Shit I passed everything (except 3 black [A]) and I still have trouble timing on 9's and 10's

I connected my PS2 to a CRT, so that's not a problem

And I tried Sudden+ and it actually seemed to help some, IDK why though, lol

I wish there was some method that made it easy for everyone else to get AAAs though :-(

It's really just different for everyone. Some people have the patience to play songs all day trying to get a perfect score. I don't have that patience, save a few instances when I feel like wasting an hour away trying to AA Boundary [a]

If it's seriously that important to you how about this. By shooting for AAA's you're skipping a step. Trying AAing everything you can, then slowly find the songs out of those you have the best timing on. For me, that was LOVE IS ORANGE, and thus my lone AAA.

I sold it lol

I kind of regret selling it though, because songs like Love is Dreaminess and Colors fucking rock and I don't have them on the styles I have :-(

And I guess I'll just practice, rofl
