So after really experiencing iidx thourougly (I own all ps2 styles and the original psone beatmania) I came up with some ideas to make iidx more stylish and intuitive. My first idea was bringing back some liscences and having new ones. I remember when I played five fathoms, new york city boy, conga etc. and how cool it was to have those songs. Although some where covers, I dont think they where that bad and I think it gave the player a real "dj" feeling (espcially the lisencesd videos.). Next is a totally rearranged controller. Like real vinyl emulation decks, I thought it would be cool that the song name and bpm would be displyed on a little screen on the turntable as well as the scrolling light banner under the screen. The keys would stay the same. The eqaualizer would be changed into a slider crossfader in the middle of the two decks. Although this is not how a real equalizer works , it would be easier for you to add you own touch to your song with out having to reach out to slide a lever up and down. Plus it would look really cool for us doubles players to mess around with. Another thing would be two mini tv displays attached to the left and right of the screen for the music video ( mainly for doubles play and would be an option). As crazy as it sounds, a lighting controller would be awesome. The interface of the new styles would be like 3rd style ( records going back and fourth). Well those are my ideas, just thought I share them with everyone. I would love to hear everyone elses ideas or suggestions. Take care.

How about they don't change anything, and keep the IIDX cabinet the same basic design that they've always had instead of having to work more to program the game for different cabinet types instead of working on things that matter, like good music and charts?

Also, I love my avatar. | |

Probably because the wall of text fucked my eyes up or something.
In any case
I did see talking about a BPM and song name display.
Yet the current BM IIDX cabinet already has it.
So I'm not sure what he meant by that.

With the Bpm thing, I was to refering to how real vinyl emulation decks sometimes have little screens on top of the "turntable" that tell you the songs length/bpm/name. I was saying it would be cool if the iidx turntable did that as well ( show the song name and bpm).

I see I see.
Granted though, this may not be of much use since 90% of the time that you play, you're looking at the screen and not what's below
Hehe

IIDX is fine the way it is.

P.S.
However
If ever there was something I wanted that would be added to the game:
It's the option for multi-colored lighting (similar to what DDR X uses).
Although I guess that's up to Sanwa to implement it (via an added product line).

Although I like the idea of add-ons to the series, like a free scratch zone, possibly even a pedal...
oh wait.
IIDX has ceased to be some sort of "DJ sim." It is what it is, like DJMax portable.
Not to say change is bad. However, since it is primarily music, that should be the majority of the change. Look at DDR. They added HANDS. That did not dramatically increase the amount of people who want to purchase the game- they just become gimmicks. (Hell, look at DDR solo.)

For the CS versions, put that damned BPM indicator back in! Doesn't really matter if you're playing in standard/free mode, but it's really annoying when you forget the speed to a certain song in Expert mode and pick the wrong mod. IIDX RED CS did a good job by allowing you to adjust the speed mod for each individual song before entering the course, but they took that out for some weird reason...
Of course, this doesn't matter to the more seasoned players who have come to memorize each song's BPM, but I personally think that our memory could be put to better use memorizing note charts and particularly challenging patterns

The mines they put in the songs are quite meaningless, and it sucks that they're on all four arrows at the same time.
