Okay, so as some of you might now, I did ~Livestyle~ version of songs for GFdm.

Now that it's a complete pain in the ass to do (GFdmV2 CS marked a change in keysound structure, which makes it a pain), I've sidetracked and started doing IIDX songs because it's easier. I don't have to worry about Panning or Volume or junk like that.

The first one I'm doing is Tizona d'El Cid.

Oh, if you didn't know this, this is pretty much my story:

As some of you may have noticed, there are slight differences between GST and OST versions of certain songs. Other than general volume level tweaking, sometimes it gets a little drastic (Like with Brazilian Anthem and it's guitar). What I do is I get all of the keysounds and recompose them in Sony ACID, creating an effect as if it were played live in an arcade. Thus, ~Livestyle~.

That link should work. I hope I'm getting the timing and stuff like that right. Anyway, it's a 20 second preview of what I have finished so far. The main thing that bugged me? The small note at around 0:18 that was higher pitched in OST and was lower pitched for GST.

After this I'm going to do like AA or Kagonotori.

What do you guys think? The only gripe I have with the preview is the *Tick* near the end, it's hard to hear sometimes. However, I don't want to mess with volume, so I'll probably leave it be.

That clip plays for about 1 second then finishes for me. T_T

Hmm... That's pretty cool.

I'll have to listen to that right next to the OST version though... But yeah, I know what you mean on GST verses the OST.

For another example...

LOW's OST has a pause where the GST doesn't. SWITCH's OST sounds SO MUCH BETTER than the GST... Why do they do that? I really don't like when the demix all the sounds like that.

.... Don't mean to be unsupportive... but...

If you want the GSTs, why don't you just put the game on autoplay and record it?... Or maybe that's not the point.... Just wondering.

Cool idea. What you're doing is beatmania to the max though. lol Cool. And I also really like this song too. Can't wait for the whole thing.

Okay, I've hit a rut, I need to know if you guys can hear it being off-beat slightly (By maybe like a 64th or something really small and insignificant).

Is it enough to bug you? If not I'll just keep going, but if it does I'll figure out a way to make it better.

You do realize that the OST version of each song is the way that the author "meant" them to be, right? Given that they directly provide the OST version to Konami?

If it doesn't sound like you're used to hearing in the game (keysounded parts not as emphasized) then that's due to the fact that it's not a GST -- not because it's wrong.

I know this may sound weird to make a request, but for your next song, could you do something along the lines of Frozen Ray from 6th Style?

That's the one song that I love the game version more than the OST version, since Taka gave the game version a much brighter, more beautiful sounding piano line in it.

But if you don't requests, that's cool too. Keep up the good work.

You might also like the Keyboardmania version of Frozen Ray, the bass kicks were brought down in volume so as to emphasize the piano part. That's also why the IIDX version is the "original mix."

They should have KBM up on GH, so check there, if not I'll add Frozen Ray to the list, given I can get keysounds.

Anyway, now that I've finished, I'm releasing Version 1.0 (To check the version, check the comment field in the TAGs because that's where I usually note version.

I'm going to upload (I'll try at school, if not there then somewhere else and soon) two versions:

1: 320 kbps MP3 44100 kHz in Stereo (No Joint Stereo or crap like that, just Stereo) at about 4.8 megs.

2: (iTunes reports this to be the rate, but I'm not sure) 1536 kpbs PCMWAV 48000 kHz in Stereo 16 bit at about 22.9 megs.

As you can see, one is compressed and one isn't. I'll give you a choice on it, that is if I can find the space to host it somewhere

Anyway, I'll start on one as soon as this weekend, and over the summer I'll try to pay more time to this.

I have yet to see a pure, clean version of it float around that's not grainy =(
