Default Turntable turning

How far do you have to spin the turntable in IIDX in order to register a scratch?
I know that a quarter of a circle spin registers a scratch in Beatmania, because of the song selection screen.

A very tiny amount of movement would register the turntable. A quarter of a circle is waay too much.

Yeah a quarter is a little too much. my modded koc needs to only be touched to register but i messed with everything to get it to be like that but im sure its around a one 64th turn or something small.

I'd say about... two minutes worth on a clock would cause it to respond.

I swear I used to know the terms for rotation and all, and then I finished physics and it all went to shit. Damn.

Thanks for the iinformation.
I play IIDX AC with Autoscratch on because I need to get used to the keys.
I don't play it often because the closest IIDX AC I know is quite far away.
However a Beatmania AC is very close to where I live.

Well sometimes you can basically tap the turntable (un-noticably turning it to the eye) and still register a scratch. Though due to the way the KOC turntables are made, I believe that you hardly have to move it at all.

That's no excuse.

You'll have to relearn the game once you get comfortable with playing it by using only the keys. Why learn the game twice.

If you want to play Beatmania with Auto Scratch, go play Pop'n Music for chrissakes.

Pssssh, more like 2 SECONDS worth. Why would I want to rotate around the turntable twice?? That's how it is in EZ2DJ.

2 minutes would be the equilavant of 12 degrees.

12 degrees =/= 2 rotations. kthxbai

Just flick the turntable. If you watch any tatsujins, you'll see that a lot just flick the AC turntable and it works just fine.

I failed a level 3 song because I was too slow to get my hands back on the keys after a scratch, which after failing, I was told that I don't have to turn the turntable that far.

Well, typically the turntable is very sensitive, so very little rotation is required to activate it. If you're having trouble, just spend time rotating the turntable and seeing how far you must push it to get it to register.

Okay, as someone who has played on numerous controllers and arcade machines, I will answer this question and end it. It's gotten stupid.

On KOCs.... Japanese and American, it literally takes almost NO movement to register the turntable. Literally about 1 degree of rotation will fire it.

On the arcade machine, if I recall correctly having been through the test mode menu on the test input screen, the turntable input is measured in numbers from 1-255... If you turn the turntable enough to change that number, then it will register... That would only take between 1 and 2 degrees of a rotation to register, which isn't much movement at all.

On Beatmania III, the turntables were much more loose and spun for a much longer period of time so although only a degree or two of rotation would trigger the turntable, it would spin a good ways regardless of whether you just tapped it or not.

On older beatmanias (I've only played Hiphop mania 5, and Beatmania Complete Mix 2 arcade games), the turntable is just as sensitive as 1 or 2 degrees as well. It spins about as much as the IIDX arcade machines do.

I hope that answers all questions, I believe it does.
