ey, I know this might be a stupid question at this point...I guess I should already know the answer, but apparently I dont...anyways...I was gonna go get the beatmania games, but I was wondering if I need to buy a new PS2 or can I get like action replay, or mod my ps2...but I dont know how to mod it to the point where it can read other formats...

You will need either a modified PS2 or a Japanese PS2.

You can buy a flip top with a boot disc, add (or have installed) a solder in mod chip, or you can buy a Japan PS2.
(I personally own a JPS2)

i dont think they sell fat anymore,unless you lucky and find one on ebay.but smil is the best way to go.

You have it very easy then.
You will need to get a version of Swap Magic and perform a basic mod on the PS2. This involves opening it up and taping up the small sensors that determine whether the lid is open or not.
Then you can boot the swap discs, put in your IIDX game and play. The mod instructions are here. | |

PSTwo Slim Flip Top Cover with Swap Magic 3.6 Plus - No Modchip Required - 0788
Hopefully it's legit to put that here. I bought mine there and it works perfectly fine. You can buy it from anywhere, but whatever you do, make sure it's for the slim-line PS2 and that it's for the NTSC for North America or something like that.
