Doesn't make any sense to me though, I'd think they'd be the exact same guts...

When I opened and tested the controller, it seems that there was a cut in one of the traces. I couldn't find that cut but I soldered a wire from key 5 to the 2P side connector. Works like a charm. I'm weary of the quality of the US KOC.

I've found that if you cut them out to the size of the inside of the key, your controller will be quieter, or if you're like me and you like loud keys, you can cut the rectangles to be more narrow than the key. then you roll scotch tape so it sticks to both the insert you've cut and the top of the plunger, and voila, a cardboard spacer mod where the spacers won't fall out of place. they actually sound fairly clicky, especially since I insulated the inside of the controller with foamcore board to add to weight and refract sound upwards instead of down into the controller.

- drink spilled on keys
- constant [a] gameplay
- thrown against wall out of frustration
- cat jumping from top of chair onto keys (several times)
and it's still working like I got it out of the box (though the left white keys kind of have a brownish color). I'm really impressed with its durability.

Been pounding away at anothers and flashing 7's and 8's ever since it came out. No problems whatsoever! Only thing was that my first Beatmania bundle came with a defective KOC, but i just had it replaced, and now it p-owns. lol.
For those who don' t like a stiff TT, mod it (believe me, the KOC design for the TT sucks [check the pics in the sticky concerning the plastic doughnuts if you don't know what i mean]). Actually, even if you like a stiff TT, please just mod it and tighten the screw accordingly. Trust me on this one. If you don't like having to depress the keys hard, mod them. Design it to your preference, cuz ultimately, you're the person who has to use and adjust to it.

Why the 12 foot tall monster with no hands had a fire ring that fits everyone from you to your grandma will still be mystery to man.
