Default USKOC Modding with Dao ASC Buttons + LEDs

So I'm about to embark on a journey to mod my USKOC with DJ Dao buttons and LEDs. I will update the thread accordingly and I hope to be done in the next month. My goal is to have it switchable from 1p to 2p side just as easily as standard KOC.
Wish me luck!

I just decided that I'm going to use the Dao FP7 board for use only with the LEDs but I'm not sure how that would fit in with the switchable ability. Will keep you posted.

If possible please make detailed photos of your work as it progresses. I've been interested in this kind of mod but I'm lazy and don't wanna do the trial and error parts myself.

sweet. Then I think this is a valid thread and will keep it around.

With your approval I would like to merge this into the controller mod thread when you are done.

No problem, just not until I'm done if that's okay. I'm kind of using this as my "My Documents" folder for this, so I can see it later and so can anyone else who wants to do it.

Okay so I have it pretty much all planned out in my mind:

Okay so the original IIDX buttons board will be kept, but moved to the very bottom of the new box the buttons will be inside, the connector on the turntable of the controller will go down with it, but still be slideable.

Alongside the original connector, there will be a standard USB-A plug that can plug in to both sides of the button box for power to the LEDs in the buttons. The USB to the system will be connected via a USB-B port where the foot pedal jack is right now, making the LEDs optional, and to make it cleaner.

The USB +5V will be wired into the DJDao PS2 PCB just as it normally would, and all buttons will be connected using the same method as used in an FP7, except the line that tells the board when the button is pressed will be soldered onto the points above for the different buttons.

The buttons will be mounted on a 1/4" piece of plywood directly under where the normal buttons are, and a 1" (I think that's the size) hole in the center of each one for the buttons to be mounted.

GIANT WALL OF TEXT OVER FOR TODAY
PROJECT DELAYED UNTIL I GET MONEY TO BUY THE DAMN BUTTONS

I just realized though that other than just building a base, I also have to put a bunch of stuff where the thing slides in so like an extra 3 inches everywhere just not the bottom

also, the buttons thing covered in tape to keep the decal from gettin wrecked by the milling machine

Also, all updates are mirrored on IIDX KOC Modding Tutorial/Information as a backup, and some extra images may be put there.

I don't want this to be unavailable in 2 years when someone wants to look at it or get ideas from it!
