Default Want to bring IIDX GOLD to America? A step-by-step guide that everyone can help with.

As suggested, this is intended as an easy-to-use thread with contact information for every chain we are trying to hit in the order of importance. I'm asking that you try to just get through as many of these as possible in the order listed; I'd also ask that if you really want this to succeed plow through it once a day, or once every few days, or once a week; as often as you can. The more often and more places we hit up the better chance we have of pulling this off.

If you have any suggestions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to either comment them here or get in touch with me.

But enough , here is the list:

1) Dave & Busters

Dave & Busters is our best bet so far. Various sources have stated they ARE interested, but not sold yet. There are 2 routes to go with D&B: Corporate headquarters, and your local location(s).

Corporate Headquarters:
1) Call 214-357-9588. Tell the receptionist that you would like to request that D&B purchase a new game. The receptionist will forward you to the voicemail of Cory Haines (sp), the Vice President. Here is what I would say in the message:

Quote:
Hi, my name is ______. I live in _______, and I've been a customer of D&B for _______. I would like to request that either my location or Dave & Busters as a whole get a new game that Konami makes called Beatmania IIDX (pronounce it two-dee-ecks, then say "which is spelled eye-eye-dee-ecks") GOLD. It's been a big hit in Japan over the last 8-10 years and they are finally localizing it and bringing it over to America. Betson will be handling distribution.

The game is similar in play to Dance Dance Revolution, but instead of dancing to the beat of a song, you act as a DJ. You pick songs which then play the core audio track of the song; by pressing 7 buttons and spinning a turntable in time with targets which fall down the screen, you actually create the music in the song. Beatmania IIDX has a significant fanbase here in the United States. So far we have primarily been thriving on importing console releases, which are always 2 versions behind the current arcade release.

Very few arcades in the United States have imported Beatmania IIDX cabinets from Japan, but locations that have done so typically attract a sizeable and dedicated fanbase from the surrounding community. It would be a great opportunity to bring the current players into your arcades exclusively in order to play it. At an estimate, many of us would come in every 1-3 days if Dave & Busters were to pick it up and spend $20-$40 per day on games alone; this is in addition to the food, drinks, and other games we would spend money on. Though the game has an extensive beginner mode to help new players get into the game, the game becomes very difficult at high-level play, so players who get into the game typically end up playing for a long time to improve. Additionally, IIDX GOLD would appeal to new and casual players.

It shares a lot of songs in common with Dance Dance Revolution which many people would recognize, and features an amazingly broad set of music with something for everyone: classical, pop, techno, hip-hop, happy hardcore, country, rock, and other genres of music are all represented.

Thank you for what Dave & Busters as a chain has done already in bringing Pump It Up to a large group of players, and please consider investing in IIDX GOLD.

Again, my name is ______; if you have any questions or concerns about the game you can reach me at ______ (phone number) or via the IIDX community at (spell out) www.bemanistyle.com. Thanks, and have a good day.

2) Mail The corporate mailing address is:

3) Head in Though somewhat inconvenient, heading in and talking to the manager on duty or the general manager (read: owner) if (s)he's in is the most effective way to show to your local D&B that you want GOLD. By seeing a physical person, they see someone who will really come in and put money into it. Make yourself as presentable as appropriate (I'd recommend jeans or khakis and a collared polo shirt). Ask anyone working to speak with the general manager or if not available the manager on duty. Say this to whoever you get:

Quote:

TILT is also a good bet. They are a well-established chain with lots of locations throughout the United States. Although I cannot find any corporate phone number or e-mail address, there are several options:

1) Website Contact Form Go to TILT's website. Click on the farthest left link (Contact). Fill in the requested details. Put this for the message to send:

At an estimate, many of us would come in every 1-3 days if GameWorks were to pick it up and spend $20-$40 per day on games alone; this is in addition to the food, drinks, and other games we would spend money on.

Here are examples of the gameplay and several types of music present:

YouTube - AUDITY plays Summer Vacation Normal 194k PC
YouTube - AUDITY plays Toe Jam (a) 196k FC
YouTube - DOLCE - Rainbow Flyer

The first is on an easiest difficulty setting; the second and third show some higher-level play to give you an idea of the room a player has to improve.

Thank you for what GameWorks as a chain has done already in bringing amusement to a large group of players, and please consider investing in IIDX GOLD.

Again, my name is ______; if you have any questions or concerns about the game you can reach me at ______ (phone number) or via the IIDX community at www.bemanistyle.com. Thanks, and have a good day.

4) Six Flags

Six Flags is a group of amusement parks with 18 locations in the US. There are a number of ways of getting in touch with them:

Corporate Headquarters:
1) Call (212) 652-9340 (New York corporate) or (972) 595-5000 (Texas corporate). Yeah, there are two corporate locations. Tell the receptionist that you would like to request that Six Flags purchase a new game to put in their arcades. The receptionist will forward you to either a voicemail or to a person. Say this:

Quote:

As many of you know from the location test, Brunswick Zone is an established series of Bowling Alleys/Arcades/Amusement Centers. I could not find corporate information, but if anyone can provide it (I'm looking at you ry19 ) I'll be glad to add it.

Local location(s):
1) Call Your local location's telephone number is listed here: Brunswick Zone Locations. Call it (preferably sometime in the afternoon) and ask if the general manager is in. If (s)he is not in, ask for his/her voicemail. Regardless on which you end up with, say this:

Quote:
Hi, my name is ______. I live in _______, and I've been a customer of Brunswick Zone for _______. I would like to request that either my location or Brunswick Zone as a whole get a new game that Konami makes called Beatmania IIDX (pronounce it two-dee-ecks, then say "which is spelled eye-eye-dee-ecks") GOLD.

At an estimate, many of us would come in every 1-3 days if Brunswick Zone were to pick it up and spend $20-$40 per day on games alone; this is in addition to the food, drinks, and other games we would spend money on.

Thank you for what Brunswick Zone as a chain has done already in bringing DDR Supernova and In the Groove 2 to a large group of players, and please consider investing in IIDX GOLD.

Again, my name is ______; if you have any questions or concerns about the game you can reach me at ______ (phone number) or via the IIDX community at (spell out) www.bemanistyle.com. Thanks, and have a good day.
Answer any questions they have and try to the best of your ability to appease any concerns they have. If you don't know how to explain something, refer them to Bemanistyle to get an answer.

2) Mail Your local location's address is listed here: Brunswick Zone Locations. Address your letter to the General Manager.

The letter should read as follows:

Here are examples of the gameplay and several types of music present:

YouTube - AUDITY plays Summer Vacation Normal 194k PC
YouTube - AUDITY plays Toe Jam (a) 196k FC
YouTube - DOLCE - Rainbow Flyer

The first is on an easiest difficulty setting; the second and third show some higher-level play to give you an idea of the room a player has to improve.

3) Head in Though somewhat inconvenient, heading in and talking to the manager on duty or the general manager (read: owner) if (s)he's in is the most effective way to show to your local Brunswick Zone that you want GOLD. By seeing a physical person, they see someone who will really come in and put money into it. Make yourself as presentable as appropriate (I'd recommend jeans or khakis and a collared polo shirt). Ask anyone working to speak with the general manager or if not available the manager on duty. Say this to whoever you get:
