I really enjoy seeing the 5-key transplants and I thought the ones in Distorted were great.
I think what I like most about them is the nostalgia factor. You know? When shit like "Attack The Music" and other crappy songs were part of the teenage experience?
I enjoy playing those songs (especially when they have the original crap-for-background graphics) much like I enjoy playing FF3 or Sonic 3.
I don't know, what do the rest of you think? Maybe they're unnecessary? Old songs are old? Waste of space? Needs more revival?
I'm curious because I hear the 5-keys mentioned, but I've never heard anything about them when it comes to general discussion. | |

With so many unreleased 5-key charts, it is great that they are releasing some charts back. To be honest many of the charts have no stood the test of time as well as others. I like what they are doing now, a taste of 5-key, but not overpowering the original games.

The 5key transplants were great. Until DD came out, it was years since i played DRUNK MONKY and Super Highway, cause I had long since sold my PSX styles. Konami really should continue doing it. | |

I LOVE the revivals. Super Highway has always been one of my favorite songs, and that chart developed me a ton as a player way back in the day. When I saw that it was coming back in DD I just about feinted.
Any of my friends know I'm a huge beatmania junkie, I still listen to the old songs and throw the old psx mixes in from time to time. I would love to see a lot more beatmania revivals, and especially stuff from 7th, Final, and III.

I think I built myself on IIDX through Complete Mix 2. CHAIN, CRYMSON, Rugged Ash, DENIM, Hellscaper, Genom Screams... yup, nostalgia, but also respect for your roots, heh.
