Marketplace Rating: 0 | What's next for the US? Beatmania has come to the US after almost 10 years, woohoo!! We even get a better controller. Well, it's been a year now, what's next?
Konami can't just release one Beatmania in the US and call it quits. What do you think they're going to do next? What'll Konami dish out? Discuss.

BMUS sold horribly, and GOLD isn't meeting enough preorders so it's very doubtful it will come out in America. They did it with Europe too, one Beatmania game and a weird-ass controller and that was it.

They won't make a lot of money, but they should make some, and they haven't spent much to begin with. Plus, all the fans that feel rejected and can't afford a japanese ps2 and imported games can play them.

It won't get to the mainstream media but it will show konami how much fan support there are. I would go play on ps2 instead of simulating it

Why make a game when in the long run your not going to make a profit. not only that but they still have to pay alot of money to even make the games, and translate them. Simply is not going to happen.

A US version has to be good. It must be the latest Japanese release plus a few songs if it is released later.
The deal breaker is that it must compete with American music games (which, ironically, Konami pioneered) in HD and on every console. Sadly, Konami is stuck with last generation games which ideally suit a hardcore gamer, but just aren't enough to attract new fans when the knockoffs can easily create a domestic US game and use their superior branding to have an instant hit.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | It's horribly, horribly ironic that Konami can't find a foothold in the market now that music games are more popular than ever. It seems like now would be the perfect time for Konami to release a game on the Wii or something that appeals to a wide audience and isn't as physical as DDR or as in-your-face as Guitar Hero. We're already willing to lay down cash for extra peripherals that we use for one game, so what's stopping them?
Thus, I submit to you: Pop n' Music or IIDX for the Wii.
(And yes, I see the irony of the in-your-face comment. Pop n' Music at least is not outwardly in your face. It takes a while to figure out that it's Satan's music game.)
Oh, and @ OMEGA:
It wouldn't have to be that in-depth. Very little translation is necessary, just enough to navigate the menus and maybe the instruction book. The main thing is just having it region-encoded for the US. It doesn't seem like it would be terribly expensive, unless there's some music-licensing issue I'm unaware of.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | The problem is Konami makes serious music games, whereas what's popular today are party music games. As in, their sole purpose is for you to have fun, not to try to get better and do really well and get perfect timing and everything
If Konami made IIDX with no timing judgment and super-easy notecharts and fancy 3D graphics then it would probably sell

There has to be some sort of happy medium, like a game with easy modes that appeal to the party crowd, but also some more hard-core modes fro the old IIDX fans. They did it for DDR.

beatmaniaDX Red/Blue:
After DX they could release a dual-version game, beatmaniaDX Red/Blue. The Red version would have a slightly modified IIDX Red theme, and Blue would have a slightly modified Happy Sky theme (or maybe 10th style). Again it would have a PS2 and PS3 bundle, and a PS2 and PS3 standalone.
beatmaniaDX Gold/Silver:
A possible sequel to Red/Blue could be Gold and Silver. Gold would have a slightly modified Gold theme, and Silver would have a slightly modified DistorteD theme. By now PS3 will have taken over, so it would have a PS3 bundle and PS3 stand-alone, maybe a PS2 stand-alone.
So, what do you think is next for beatmania in the US? What'll Konami dish out? | You honestly sound like a 13 year old discussing Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

One. The idea is to sell as few versions as possible. People are less confused then. It's just worse if there's no actual difference between the versions.
Two. People will be pissed at even the slight amount content one version gets and the other doesn't.
