What's next for the US?

I think I read a headline reading "Konami to release Bemani in USA." Apparently, this is set to coincide with their reopening of KoA.

Pop'n on the Wii could rock. It fits the whole scheme of the Wii with bright and fun colors and you could possibly use your Mii as a character.

Nothing else will happen in the US regarding Beatmania, outside of the imports. It will probably remain that way due to how impossible it would be to integrate it into the "mainstream", unlike Guitar Hero.
Also, throw those Pokemon-inspired ideas in the trash.

Konami can't just release one Beatmania in the US and call it quits. What do you think they're going to do next? Here's what I think is entirely possible and could happen:

Konami could release a sequel to beatmania called beatmaniaDX. They wouldn't call it IIDX because beatmania never had a US PSOne 5-key game, so it wouldn't be beatmaniaII. It would come as a PS2 bundle, PS3 bundle, and a stand-alone PS2 game.


beatmaniaDX Red/Blue:
After DX they could release a dual-version game, beatmaniaDX Red/Blue. The Red version would have a slightly modified IIDX Red theme, and Blue would have a slightly modified Happy Sky theme (or maybe 10th style). Again it would have a PS2 and PS3 bundle, and a PS2 and PS3 standalone.

beatmaniaDX Gold/Silver:
A possible sequel to Red/Blue could be Gold and Silver. Gold would have a slightly modified Gold theme, and Silver would have a slightly modified DistorteD theme. By now PS3 will have taken over, so it would have a PS3 bundle and PS3 stand-alone, maybe a PS2 stand-alone.

So, what do you think is next for beatmania in the US? What'll Konami dish out?

I'm having a hard time wondering if this thread is a joke thread or not. Obviously IIDX can exist if they have IIDX as a mode in BEATMANIA US.

A US version has to be good. It must be the latest Japanese release plus a few songs if it is released later.

The deal breaker is that it must compete with American music games (which, ironically, Konami pioneered) in HD and on every console. Sadly, Konami is stuck with last generation games which ideally suit a hardcore gamer, but just aren't enough to attract new fans when the knockoffs can easily create a domestic US game and use their superior branding to have an instant hit.

As for what's next in the US, another beatmania US release is HIGHLY UNLIKELY due to the horrible horrible sells of the first attempt. Jason Enos screwed up, X-Play reviewed the game, game was half-assed, game was unattractive (even to me--someone who thinks beatmania 4thMIX looks GREAT!), the controller wasn't all that, the bundle price tag was good news mainly only for importers of the series, and the game felt really unbalanced..........not to mention, video games stores have been pulling beatmania+bundle off their shelves and they aren't planning on getting ANY more, infact, I don't even think that they even WANT anymore copies.

I don't think that Konami of America would waste more of their money on an already unsuccessful game bundle again. Even if they tried and released an awesome version of the game with new everything and new bundle box art that looks attractive as hell, chances are that people still would have a bad taste in their mouths from the first beatmania US game thus very little-NOTHING is accomplished.

Ya know what's funny? In any crossover song from IIDX/pop'n/GF/DM on DDR SuperNOVA 2 CS US, it mentions the original game's name (eg. "This song is from the super popular beatmania IIDX series"), so that must mean there is another bemani game coming to america. Another proof of that theory, "Check out other songs by TERRA in other BEMANI games" from DDR SuperNOVA 2 CS.
