Why do YOU play iidx?

Just a little curious...

everybody has their reasons.

I've noticed IIDX isn't exactly a "casual" game for one to enjoy, it seems you either binge it until your on the brink of carpal tunnel and insanity, or you play nothing more then level 4/5 songs with a mild interest.

Do you play because of the mad addiction? do you think its the greatest music simulator? because it won't allow you to just stop now? Do you play it to master it? or just play it for fun?

-I personally have been through many music "rhythm" simulators.. ranging from binging even stepmania to PUI to DDR/ITG to even a little pop'n. (guitar hero and rock band don't count, even though I do have them in my closet somewhere)

But nothing can touch where iidx lands on the scale of quality. and I think once i started clearing hyper 8's i realized i was too far to just go back now :P

As opposed to grinding in a fucking cave for levels for 90+ hours.

i like playing it because i'm addicted to music games in general...especially the really challenging ones.

but my friends say i like it because i have "a huge boner for japan"

I play IIDX because
1) I like music.
2) I really like bemani music.
3) I mean, really like bemani music.
4) I enjoy rhythm gaming.
5) IIDX is arguably the best implemented rhythm game.
6) Every other game is gay and boring in comparison.

It depends on your sense of "reward" I feel that being able to AA a song is a reward. Most people that doesn't play the game or tried it and hated it are the ones that doesn't like the feedback the game gives. Which is quite meagre.

I can't put it better than Meeshter. Instant Gratification every 2 minutes.

I also like some of the music in IIDX. Though I still prefer DJMAX and Ez2dj.

the music is awesome. that was what drew me to this game at first.

then the graphics really got me hooked. i love the interfaces, themes, frames and background movies, it really ellevates itself as a game graphically above anything else ive played.

I have been playing it a lot lately because:
1. Amazing music, best in the bemani series
2. The interfaces continue to amaze me, better than any other music game
3. Awesome overall concept, and very well executed

Realised most of my friends played other easier Bemani like DDR, Jubeat cos they said IIDX had the steepest learning curve.

The music's good.
Just like every other arcade game, the challenge of trying to beat your old score is fun.
It's a break from grinding in a fucking cave for levels for 90+ hours.

List of reasons for me:
1) I like music (any genre would do)
2) I'm an arcade gamer but I've been exposed to music/rhythm games ever since they've existed into the world for ten years ago
3) I found sophistication in BM IIDX (which is something that I didn't see in other music games)
4) Cabinet and BOSE sound system plus graphics (best graphics in a music game) attracts people
5) I think that BM IIDX has the most number of trance songs than any other music game to date.

Top 5 reasons for me I guess
