orangeloungeradio, I was listening to it. One way or another, it ended up posing the question: why do I play IIDX? What is it about IIDX that makes me play it more than say Pop'N?
For me, it's 4 things:
*Culture
*Songlist
*Swag
*Controller
So, anyone else? (sorry for lack or detail, I'm freakin BEAT!)

I play both games fairly regulary. but beatmania has a bit more challenge than pop'n and I like the beatmania song list more. That said I love the "classics" in pop'n, it is just the difference in the song lists.

- The collection of songs
- The variety in the genre of the songs
- The videos (they can range from artistic to simple)
- The controller (especially the turntable)
- For fun (the most important reason)

I play because its the more challenging of the bemani games. I love the art and music as well.
I would much prefer to have drummania though. I dont think theres anything close to matching its closeness to actually playing an instrument.

Because the music kicks-ass and the game is fun. Plus it's a great game if you are looking for a challenge. Even if you can clear all of the single mode songs, if you have another controller you could move on to doubles.

It's challenging
It's fun for me
I like a lot of the music
The controller is pretty awesome
It's got a decent amount of people playing it
Konami retains the same scoring system each game, unlike DDR
The artwork is great
Easily my favorite music game at the moment. | |
