Default Worth switching to 2p side?

Hi all. I've seen a lot of really good players using the disc with their right hand. Is it worth the switch if I haven't committed that much time to the game yet? (Only a week).

Opinions will probably differ, but there might be pros and cons people unanimously agree on.

I'm right-handed btw.

EDIT: I dunno if I'll be able to see the immediate benefits because I can only clear level 6's consistently atm.

Well, most of the amazing IIDX players out there play on 2p side because they started playing when the original 5-key, beatmania came out. As it was ONLY right handed disc.

There are plenty of players out there who can get equal scores with the 1p side, however there are a larger majority seen playing 2p side.

I'm right handed, and I play 1p side. - You could always switch it up, as its a good idea to become versatile with your playing style that way. - but in no way is it necessary and or better.

Its all just what feels best to you, and what you learned on.

the only advantage I see is if you had a IIDX butt-buddy who plays 1P and you guys like to go to the arcade and play Battle a ton. But that's it.

Switch to 2P side

people will love you at the arcades.

Other wise no, there's no reason what-so-ever.

Like they said before me, there's no huge reason that you should switch.

Pretty much these explanations as well as the other explanations would suggest such. However, I would not suggest a permanent change of playstyle.........but rather as pointed out, to try playing on the other side to add to your versatility. In my case, I'm mainly a 1P side player who plays with two hands.....but sometimes I play one-handed (1P side) as well as play on 2P side (so that my 1P-side friends can battle with me). In very rare cases, I also play double.

So yeah, learn another playstyle to add to your versatility and flexibility.

Or something like that......

dj LISU uses the left side.

Only reason I can think of other than what's been said is if you ever find an old 5-key cabinet you're gonna have "fun" using the right scratch. Unless it's THE FINAL or something with center play on it.

do whatever feels the most comfortable for you. i never had a chance to play 1p side because i grew up with oldschool beatmania so 1p feels incredibly unnatural to me.

though, pinky scratching feels unnatural to me as well :p
