Playing at home is a very different experience than the arcade. I sit like 7 feet away from my small CRT TV at home, and in the arcade I am standing like 6 inches away from the screen, thus the notes appear as if they are falling down faster. This reminds me of DDR--you're good at home, but then not as good at the arcade. I can't even get over 900,000 points at the arcade (DDR), but at home it is way easier.

At home, I can pass like 99% of all the 5-star songs in 9th Style - DistorteD. I play with auto-scratch off, and I can A-AA most songs that are under 5 and and under. I haven't tried hard clearing songs yet, so maybe I will do that. The old styles have good songs, but I got spoiled into liking the graphics of 9th Style and Beyond (My first IIDX = RED).

Yep just playing IIDX whenever I can. I notice though my fingers are like Saiyans, they become stronger after each IIDX session. Plus, I am able to get a higher combo / score after playing every other days.

LilRabbitToy, by any chance are u using training mode, it helps your reading and timing skills. The thing I would do to beat a song or move on to the next level is to go to training mode, have the hi-speed at 4 or 5 and go thru playspeeds 1-4.

Another method to get better is to play songs that are a higher level than the level your playing including the lower or higher levels on hyper and maybe another.

Things to check while progressing: your finger position for the keys:this determine how slow or fast you progress thru the game also how easy or hard a song will be.
Another thing to check would be the best or the highest hi-speed you complete songs with. It determines same stuff I mention above. Last, AAA/AA/A every song you already beat after beating all the songs on the difficulty you're on. It increases your timing and shows your progress.

Now to be on-topic with the thread. I'll be going everyday to a.i. in the afternoons to play some games and check if they have troopers installed.

I agree with Carl. I started playing in the arcade, which helped me get better at home, and then getter better at home helped me in the arcade

Don't use regu speed. It's a bad crutch. Regu speed keeps the songs speed at 150 bpm so you dont have to worry about speed changes. Also don't use auto scratch. You'll regret it in the end.
