i think theyre going to take the technika out soon. theyre going to replace the hardware and add in online features and new songs. i'm already tired of hearing First Kiss already.

Hehe, not officially hers until she accepts it. She came from San Jose so I'm not even sure if she's reading all of these. I can't wait for the new hardware actually. Not only tired of hearing First Kiss but OBLIVION, Play the Future... the popular stuff. The machine is right next to me!

Pfft, I didn't 'break' the machine, it broke on ME. AI is the place to be for Technika testing! Too bad Onipa and AUDITY didn't give it a try, lol.

well. we figured out why certain people crash the machine more than others. All i gotta say is, make sure you ground yourself, and dont wear clothes that generate static electricity

Ohmygosh! You were going to give me an extra card? That's so nice! I feel stupid for leaving so early now I had to get back to Super Arcade (Japan Arcade?) for the Tekken tournament. I was there a good couple hours on Saturday, that's when I lost my card. I'm guessing I left it on Pop'n or IIDX but the fact it went missing so fast means it's probably gone for good.

It's really nice of you to offer me a new card, I really appreciate it. But last weekend was my first visit to SoCal in 2 years... and my first visit to AI in 4 years (first time I went I had a headache my first like 3 seconds of being in there and it took that long for it to go away )

I feel bad now because, to be honest, I left AI with a very bad impression both days I went. The games are good.. You guys have hella updated bemani just like at SVGL, but I can't get over how awful the IIDX screen is. Someone posted it doesn't make it harder to play but it really does. I'm sure it's something that's fine if you get used to it though but for someone who is expecting colors, it messes with you. I don't know what happened like if the timing is different or if I just plain suck, but I swear something was weird cuz I failed Deep Striker. I'm not that great at IIDX at all, but I don't really ever fail that song except for yesterday, my timing was way off. It was probably a number of factors though. It was the first time I played on a working Drummania V5 too. Props to you guys for having that.

I left with a bad impression though because I hardly saw anyone playing games there save for SF4. I played Technika for almost an hour on Saturday because there was no line.. at SVGL there is always a line, which kind of sucks to wait in, but it means we have a bigger community, I think. Also some guy squashed a bug! It wasn't a spider or anything and I was about to take it outside but he just SQUASHED it like right there! Made me kind of mad.

Perhaps I should get a blog or something. Sorry for making such a long pointless post.

Anyway I wanted to say thank you for the card! That's such a sweet thing to do, but I can't think of any time for me to go down again, especially now that school started. THANK YOU though. ^_^

The funny thing about the IIDX screen is that you get used to it relatively fast. Play a round or two doing songs a level or so below what you usually play, and it should stop being an issue to follow the notes. It's inconvenient, but not all that much harder.

The timing is fantastic, too, which helps a lot.

First Kiss hasn't worn on me yet. Maybe because I get such a kick out of the First Kiss 'dance' and how roflbad animated it looks (love ya, D).

Oblivion can die, though, and so can Dear My Lady (shit is not a 3 - hella more death on this disco than Texture ever had - and the song sucks but for some reason I keep on hearing people play it).

Yeah, that sorta threw me off as well - I expected SoCal to have even bigger hype for Technika given the fact that they have it in more places and have had more time to develop skill for the game. Granted, the locations are on, IIRC, opposite sides of the LA area, but still!

(Also, as an aside, I was going to make a point about how when I went there wasn't a score on Son of Sun (me: wait what they haven't passed it yet? where's the hype), but I realize in retrospect that only Platinum Crew scores are persistent.)

well michael heard about the lost card so he felt bad about it since youre from norcal, so he left a card to stacy so she can mail to you. you should probably have a PM from her for your mailing address already.

as for the technika, the machine is going to leave ai for repairs, and upgrades. Apparently it'll have the online mode, plus some other new things, and definately bug fixes. If you noticed that the subwoofer and some of the LEDs blew out, it's because of the voltage issue. Having it plugged into the american outlet is slowly killing the machine.

anyway, i hope it comes back. Having a new music game like that there at AI seems fitting.
