ITG is LONG gone for AI, they're NEVER gonna get it. It was thought about at one point, but they decided not to due to a few reasons.

Some new info I found. From DJ TRNX board.

AI is going to be sold or perhaps even closed if there aren't any buyers in a couple months. This is confirmed with ken and jeffery owners of ai. They're selling because they have been losing money in the past months, this all because of the 9k rent, konami jp not allowing bemani games to be sold overseas, and most importantly being forced to close at 10pm on weekdays from LA county and a lame Home Owner's association leader that complains to the city. This leader guy actually comes to diamond plaza and sits at the pastry shop after 10pm and stares at the ai doors making sure no one enters. He is a tall middle maged white guy that usually comes with another coworker. You can't miss the guy. Never parks his car by ai. Just parts at front of the plaza and goes to ten ren then walks to ai, sometimes even through the backway so he can get to his viewing spot at the pastry shop at bottom of ai stairs with no one noticing. The whole issue is actually more complicated but thats most if it.

come on people, you know I'm right. And we shouldn't even worry too much about the owners of A.I. because they're gonna come out on top at the end anyway. I hope I'm not the only one who remembers them being sued by SNK (or whoever) for selling bootlegs at one point and the stories about them closing down came about?

Very very sad, that's where I got my Happy Sky fix. =( I remember this being a concern from a while ago too. Though Phil is right; If AI relocates, then the issues are solved. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll get more business elsewhere that will get us a bit of a nicer area, with less echoing problems. And away from those Asian gangs. We all know who I'm talking about...


If the place does close down, however, I do recommend Super Arcade, as they use the same coins as AI and have similar machines. Any ideas where they might move to if they have to relocate? Hopefully not far, as the area is already 20 minutes from my house, 10 minutes from my school.

yes, its true... i'm sad too. i met a lot of friends there and got good at some games. D: and i'll be outta the job by the end of the year.... i'm pretty sure eddie will come and hear about the news sooner or later. whats SNGL, sid? O.o

the last time i been to super arcade (months ago), they still had IIDX red... and the buttons stick sometimes, plus the screen isn't exactly that great. i don't know if it still has that problem or if they have supernova. they have decent GF/DM machines at least...

Yeah seriously what the hell is the guy's problem? Lets do this if you guys see that guy watching the arcade and everything that goes on there, lets just all watch him and his every movement and video record him take pictures etc.

Just move on.
The owners make more with their import shop then with the arcade.

If you couldn't read well as to what the guy problem, his problem is that AI is following City Ordiance of closing at designated time during the week. He doesn't much of a say when it's the weekends, but on weekdays it is a different matter.
