Finally came here last night. If any one was there, I was some brown Filipino kid in a orange/gray striped sweater and shorts. If it helps, I was carrying a green beanie with my headphones and tokens inside.
I gotta say, while it was a little different from what I was expecting, it was definitely worth it (spent over $60: $20 on gas, $20 on food/refreshments, $20 on tokens + plus other expenses for other Asian stuff). Wish I came here earlier (Left SD at around 3:30PM, got there at 5:30 and left around 9:30 so parents don't kick my ass).
Soooo many new things I got to try for the first time. Typing of the Dead? TGM Tetris? That Gundam game that plays like Gotcha Force?
Beatmania IIDX totally kicks my ass on Standard, but I'm really digging Pop'N. I didn't even get to try the other neat looking rhythm games.
Tried my hand at Technika there a couple times, too. I did a pretty OK run on Electro and I only placed 34. 34? We barely have that many players who can even clear Pop over here. My first time using headphones on Technika, too. Wait, what? Actually having noise in an arcade? Beats dead silence. When I walked out I could barely hear myself (or maybe it was just from Pop'N, the machine is actually pretty loud IMO).
