The only song that I saw lag was when the guy playing picked Ganymede[a] and it was about to where all the notes start coming down hard.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I went on Sunday and played a little on DrumMania V2. It's sad that Guitar Freaks doesn't work at all. Here's hoping that V3 will come soon.
Overall machine is nice, I thought there was a little inconsistency with the snare but that might all be in my head. On Extra Stage it did that super speed up audio track missing so I did a drum solo on Atalante.
I think maybe it's a skip read error on the PS2 or something, because sometimes I get the exact same thing happening on my PS2 with V and Masterpiece Silver on my modded PS2.

Yeah generally lag will start coming up when you play songs with lots of notes. Although coincidentally, I got to play contract [a] (and set the new high score of mid-a) and it was pretty much lag free(in-game. It still lagged during the load time you can tell by the little turntable icon when it lags).

Marketplace Rating: 0 | just came back and lo and behold DistorteD was there in all its glory (ah....Happy Sky....we hardly knew you). The placard was still Happy Sky and the machine gobbled several of my tokens before allowing me to play. I swear I could've heard the machine say "go away loser" but I decided to just take my chances and play anyway.
Played almost all the songs I wanted to try on Expert -> Local -> Platinum Course:
5) Look to the Sky (poor man's back into the light. Or was this one created first)
4) Alfanshear
3) Zenius
2) Samba de Janeiro (liked this song, didn't know others liked it too, isn't this from DDR?)
1) Bloody Tears (wow, this song is almost as hard as the game its from)
But I must confess my true purpose for playing DistorteD was SO FABULOUS!. Luckily for me it was on the Gold Course. Song isn't that hard. In fact I could probably play it with one hand, allowing me to truly enjoy myself
Unfortunately personally I don't care for many of the songs on DistorteD, as I expected since I didn't care for the OST (most of the songs are from old CS releases). But I count myself as lucky to even be able to play IIDX 13. Thanks to all those who made it possible

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Went yesterday after work (Around 1:30pm-2:10pm) and played 3 games of Drummania. Everything was working fine for me until I played Atalante for my extra stage where I got about halfway through the song, it did that speed up thing, slowed down, and the song stopped playing, I had to improvise from there. I played Die Zauber Flote and that was fine. I didn't see that sign that said "Do not choose 1st and 2nd stage or the game will freeze" until my 2nd game. Luckely it didn't feeze though! And everything was well. So, I'll be back there hopefully tomorrow for a bit before I head off to the OK Go concert...
One thing that I am very sad about was it being $1 for 3 songs. I might as well stick to going to Super Arcade for that price when I just played the new songs and they weren't anything special to keep me coming back to AI for those. However, it was nice playing Die Zauber FLote without Encore (since I was never good enough to get it, nor get it on extreme for that matter), and then I love Atalante. Best Kozo song yet that hasn't been n00b raped!

haha. Damn straight. Even if it does become noob raped when it's no longer an extra stage, It'll still be his best piece.
Either way, I'm just happy to see V2 make it anywhere near where I live, seriously. I was beginning to lose hope. lol. But bug fixes are always a plus...

DistorteD was doing fine for a bit and then it would randomly start lagging.
I told the person that was working there about it, and we gave it another run and then it didnt lag at all.
A few more games later it started lagging again. Not really any specific songs, not sure what triggered it either.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | Just a little query but isn't distorted like all other styles after 9th PC based? Couldn't you supposedly fix the lag problem by increasing the RAM (no pun intended) i.e. if the machine has two 256 mb ram cards, replace them with two 512 ram cards?

Who's going to be there this Saturday afternoon?

Unless ram has been removed from the machine I'd imagine what it had to begin with would be sufficient if that kit worked properly at all in the past.
When a computer program lags its usually caused by many factors but the main ones are
CPU clock too slow: cannot process and the data fast enough to maintain smooth operations
Poor pipeline architecture: If a cpu has a poor pipeline architecture, it could cause data bottlenecks and data collisions which would cause loss of data and it needing to be repeated.
Data/memory error: When a data fails for whatever reason, a cyclic redundancy check, DVD scratch, incorrect memory address/register, etc, the computer needs to take time to correct that data. Integrated circuits, hard drives, memory can all wear down due to overuse and when that happens their reliability goes down. I think distorted's lag might have been due to overplay or possible physical damage to the system.
Most computer ram today are synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM) I don't know if that particular type is compatible with arcade machines.
