Does anybody know what "buchiage" means? I couldn't find it on Websters' or wiki. Does it have anything to do with the "butch" and "gay"? | buchiage means something along the lines of "party"

Marketplace Rating: 3 | Just to let everyone know, we got DistorteD to boot again, but now we've run into another problem with it, so it'll be down until the end of the week. I'm working on repairing the GF machine as well.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | So, I have an interesting situation. My college and my home are both in Illinois. However, my family is flying to San Francisco (where we will stay from December 22 - December 25), and we are driving down to Los Angeles (arriving there late on Thursday, December 28), where we will be meeting my grandparents. Both of my grandparents are willing (and interested) in going to Japan Arcade (or possibly Arcade Infinity - they haven't responded to my e-mail yet). Personally, I would prefer to go to Arcade Infinity, as it seems to have much more current (and more) bemani/music games.
Anyways, it looks like the only time to go to the Arcade Infinity would be on Friday, December 29. So, here are my questions:
1) When would be the least crowded time to go?
2) When will there be the least traffic from downtown L.A. (to the arcade)?
3) Are there any tourist attractions within a few miles of the arcade, in case the rest of my family isn't interested in staying at the arcade for very long?
Also, I don't think this would really fit in the thread, but are there any good arcades (near the level of Arcade Infinity) in the city of San Francisco? (note: this is only the city of San Francisco, not the surrounding areas (e.g. San Jose))
I hope for a quick response.

| 1) Closer to opening is best, but it sometimes opens late. I'd say arriving around 2 should be pretty safe.
2) Before 3 and after 7. Between that is LA rush hour, and the 60 freeway leading to AI is one of the worst in the area.
3) Not really. The entire area is very asian, so if they're into that, they can browse the stores in the plaza and stuff. There's also plenty of awesome places to eat (once again, mostly asian).

I hope for a quick response. | I would think SVGL, but I'm not entirely sure how close it is to SF.
BTW, DJP, what was wrong with the GF in the first place? Motherboard fried? Bad connections?
Can't wait for V3. Good job to Ken for attaining it.

but yeah either SVGL or RTA (SVGL for quality and RTA for distance, RTA is on pier 39)

Its quite fun actually. All kinds of go-cart tracks and what not. Not sure if its a family thing but I'm sure its better for them than sitting in an arcade.

lest we not forget Puente Hills mall is only an exit away... grandparents love malls... they love to by their grandchildren extra presents... (or at least its your job to make them believe that) other than malls is there ANYTHING within about 25mi of AI.

Well, on friday nights the general area around AI has been prone to cases of gang related fights, stabbings, etc. Not really the best place to take your family. If you want to go friday I suggest before 6 PM.
If you want a really nice place to go I suggest the Irvine Spectrum center. About 20 min drive @80 mph.
As far as SF goes.....
SVGL is about an hour and 10 min drive @ 70 mph (you cant speed in norcal like in socal). SVGL is a nicer more family oriented place.
In SF some nice places I like to go to is Fisherman's wharf and Ghiradelli square.
