Say hi if you see me--I'll be wearing a striped pink shirt, jeans, checkered Vans, and possibly a brown blazer if it's a little cold around Rowland Heights.

Total Tokens: 358.00 Donate Tokens | Hey, is the Beatmania IIDX screen supposd to have those awkward colors? I've never played IIDX in the arcade before, but, when I played at AI it was really hard to decipher the difference between blue and grey notes. I couldn't even beat a level five song because of it. Maybe I'm just not accustomed to the screen.
I asked this one guy who was doing well at IIDX if he thought the screen was messed up at all, and he just shook his head. Kind of a dick, too, haha, (he was chubby and wearing a doorag/hat and Ecko clothing) and when my friend went up to the screen with me, he just pushed all the buttons for us (up to where it says pick "Standard" "Expert" etc) without saying a word.
But yeah, it was disappointing to see I couldn't even tell the difference between the notes. Oh well, I'll try again later.

you'll just have to get used to the bruised TV. at least the blue notes arent white to begin with... theyre green.
you had your hi speed setting ridiculously high for the song. i actually thought you were asking about the scroll speed.

Yeah, I thought we were going to play a 150 BPM song, but then we were going to play Jam, and my friend loves that song(we were just playing that in the car) and I forgot the BPM was like 200+. I thought I could pull a high speed selection thing down like in Bemani Red CS, but, that was a negative.
How did you get so good? Just playing the arcade machine a lot, or do you have a PS2 + pad? The highest I can beat is like V on hard, which is like a 10/12, and it's not very consistent.
Edit: just read one of your past posts about HS CS. I have yet to...acquire it...but I hope I can improve myself with it more then Red. I never really got into it, but play 10th tons.

yeah thats one of the things i dont like about HS AC. hi-speed is only up to 4.0 and you cant change it during the song.
i suggest you set a standard hi-speed for songs that are around 145-160 bpm. then for every 20 bpm or so increase/decrease hi-speed as you see fit.
i started playing at AI not too long ago, maybe a year now. i started playing at home a while before that. only thing that you have to adjust between home and arcade is probably the turntable.
but i digress. i really dont wanna go back until they get DD back up or GOLD ;]
i'd say 10th style is a pretty good disc to improve yourself on.

Total Tokens: 358.00 Donate Tokens | Yeah, I usually have at least high speed 2 on any song. Songs like Love Shine, which I think is around 180BPM, I leave on HS2 usually, maybe 2.5.
I haven't read the rest of the thread, but I was assuming Distorted would be there for play. When they update, they keep the same screen, huh? Just a matter of software change?
I probably won't go back until Distorted or Gold. I came from Burbank, which is like a forty minute drive.

Unfortunately, I don't live in the in the area (I was actually on vacation in Los Angeles with my family - my home and my college are both in Illinois). So, as of two days ago, it was down, but you will have to ask someone else (or check yourself) if you want a more recent update.

I came today (New Years) and played one game of SuperNOVA, plenty of Pop'n Music and some Beatmania IIDX Happy SKy. (I dont' care about DisorteD for now since I am still a half-noob in-training.)
Pop'n play was so-so today, but for those who came from around 1:20 PM to like 4, you might reconize me. I even screamed "Taima-Kun!". XD
Remind you last time i'm am a Bemani Otaku. XD
