its almost may, and besides Supernova (on a shitty screen no less), there's nothing worthwhile at this arcade. well, besides the giant photobooths where i can get my groove on with the local ladies...

this arcade kinda died. The owners wife wanted to move somewhere else....like san ...something....clemente? Somewhere like that, and the owner left with her. So now the arcade is being run by some other new people. Upgrades seem unlikely.

Pump zero recently moved over to the smaller machine (sx?), so it looks a lot more crisp on the tv instead of on the projector screen.

Also, I fixed up the DDR and PUMP pads as much as I possibly could. Both Pump pads seem decent, but the DDR is a bit wonky: 2p is pretty good, as far as I can tell, 1st player side is only ok - you may get occasional pad misses if you step a slight bit too lightly or off center. Also fixed the brightness on the DDR supernova screen so that you can see it better during the day now. However, it's the brightness I adjusted, so there's a loss in the crispness of the picture (it's pretty fuzzy), but nothing that will totally get in the way of playing.

I'm gonna try to get the owner to lower the DDR and PUMP prices to 3 tokens per.

Also, it seems like he's gonna get some sorta update to the place (you know, that famed never gonna happen update). He's gonna get initial d 4 in some weeks/days, I dunno, I'm not sure anymore. Wait like two weeks and come inside to see if they have it or not. Also, he wondering what machines people might want inside the arcade. He already mentioned the music games - beatmania iidx, drummania, popn - but what other machines than those? fighting games? Anyone still play GG? He's also interested in Maximum tune but can't find a distributor. So give out your suggestions guys. It wouldn't hurt just to say it anyway, but I guess don't hold your breath either.

pop'n is a little too obscure for LA to have maybe... but it cant hurt.

as far as fighting games, since it's a largely korean arcade... king of fighters series, and more tekken than virtua fighter imo. i wonder if korean people play GG A-core. im sure there are fans but i only know KOF was very widely played amongst korean people. ^^;;

Thanks for the input. Yeah the owner just told me to write a list of games that people would be interested in playing- iidx 14 (maybe 15 by the time he actually goes through with this deal) and gfdmv4 are probably a given; pop'n has appeal to girls, I'd think, so when they're all done with the print club stuff, they'd do that; fighting games - I'll recommend KOF XI, but other than that, what's good? Tekken probably yeah. People play the hell out of the Tekken tag we have. I'm gonna go to AI tomorrow and see what people actually play amongst the games there.

Oh and I think he's found someone for maximum tune so that's good.

Also, if Phil is reading this, when's the new Pump machine gonna come out? is it gonna be during December like for NX? Should the guy get NX or just wait for the new one?

i think its a good thing that the arcade has print club machines, they're always raking in some profit ;]

as far as iidx 15, if the deal goes down near the end of 2007, definitely push for iidx 15. DJ TROOPUHZ. i hope unlocks and everything were possible here too, i guess we'll see if anyone's willing to support the bemani's here as well.

i forgot which soccer game it was... but its a world-cup type of deal that i remember from back in the days... probably from sega.

I'm down for IIDX. It doesn't matter which version, as long its 11 or above.
Troopers aven Gold would be a plus.
And some Pop'n would be a nice touch.
I live only a mile away from the arcade, like four blocks, so its walking distance ^__^.

egh, not really. Was there last night. Basically, it'd be better to assume that they wouldn't upgrade, and if they did, it won't be for a long while. I'll update this thread on the small chance that they do, but until then, no new stuff.

No working versions of IIDX are at cyberzone currently. Last time there was one was back in 2003- 8th style with a messed up screen and really lax level grading. Now there's only a cabinet sans the tv.

hmm Well I talked it over, and it doesn't seem likely that he's gonna get a new pump. :/

Initial D 4 is here with the HD tvs. I didn't ask how much the cards are, but I'll ask next time, and I'll post pictures too. Also Dm is somewhat fixed, but the bass is still pretty bad.
