1,500 x 15 = 25,000?

My ass. My small ass arcade with like 18 games was 2000 sq. ft. I am pretty sure AI is a bit bigger than that xD

They dont have the large cabinet arcades they have the japanese style arcade cabinets. The only games they have that take up reasonable amount of space are street fighter 3rd strike and the bemani music games, and the racing games. It is about 25 feet wide and 60 feet deep more or less.
Sims calculator? 15 dollars per square per month? That seems pretty high.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | Im guessing you have your bases covered as far as street fighter games, and bemani music games. Are you going to have any shooting games? Like House of dead 4, virtual cop 3 etc?

i see it as the big three that save arcades now (and run them) are:
fighting games and bemani games
racing games
shooting games
in that order of moneymaking/popularity/reputability

I mean, depending on the location.

Music games are ridiculously expensive and the upkeep can be painful if you have little kids messing up the screens and "scwibble-scwabble"-ing your IIDX machines. Aside from that, DDR seems to be the only machine with a shot in hell for modesto and even then, you will have to compete against places like Boomers and Funworks (do they still have machines? I stopped playing ages ago).
The truth is, not alot of people are going to want the Bemani locally. As for pulling people from outside areas, the golflands already have their local attraction set up and i doubt many AI players would drive up here unless for special occasions. If your arcade isnt going to have more of the "normal" games you see in an arcade, then the majority of your customers locally will be spending tokens at boomers and sitting on the side of a go-kart track because they rammed the guy in front of them. Locally, youre going to be fighting an uphill battle and in the surrounding regions, im just not sure there will be enough people around to support the arcade (though if your arcade is pimped out im sure you will get some people travelling).
It seems like an awfully unsafe investment, but that being said, if it goes down I wish you the best of luck. If you somehow acquired the new IIDX I would most likely be there every weekend, and I am pretty sure my brother would be as well.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | I heard AI doesn't really get it's money from the arcades; it gets its money from the cars they sell (or fix up...or something)(confirm?). I'm not really quite sure where i'm going with this...maybe establish a profitable business before venturing into the arcade business?

The problem is, its not the fact that its not a profitable business, its the fact that people believe that a arcade works.
